My Kenmore dryer (4 to 5 years old) starts fine, heats fine, and then quits after about 20 minutes. When we try to turn it back on, the start button just buzzes. We have to wait about 30 minutes to get it to come back on, and then the same thing happens. Is this the same problem as the person whose dryer stays on 20 to 30 SECONDS, as opposed to my 20 to 30 MINUTES?
SD, doesn't sound like the same problem. Yours sounds more the like motor kicking out on overload and when it cools down you are able to start it again. The thermal fuse and high limit TCO are non resettable so you can rule them out. You are going to have to check some things out. Make sure the rollers and pulley are not binding. The blower wheel is not binding. These things will cause a drag on the drum and put a heavy load on the motor. Catriver...post back
Hi,
If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.
if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....
If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.
