SOURCE: how do i adjust the

The chain tensioner is on the right side of the bike a few inches or so in front of the tire on the rear swing arm all you do is adjust it up to tighten and down to loosen it.

I need to fix my chain from falling off all of the time.

Dont quote me on this but i think their should be a spring inside the centrifugal clutch that pushes the gear back against the housing but a nice copper washer like you suggest will do the trick ,but the amount of movement is negligable as once the clutch engages it will not move so check the chain tension

Whisetling from primary, speeds up with rpms.a surging when down shifting into a stop.banging when motor engages on start

Sounds like the primary chain adjuster has slipped loose or something. I'd pull the primary cover off and take a look to see if I saw anything that didn't look right. Just drain the primary by removing the drain plug on the underside back where the clutch is. Remove the floorboard and the bolts and take the outer primary cover off. You can see the whole setup then. The chain should have 3/4 to 7/8 inch freeplay in the middle.

Good Luck

The chain keeps falling off the largest three sprockets on the cassette, when pressure (e.g. during a climb) is applied.

Falling off - where to? Or just slipping?

Perhaps the indexing adjustments or worn teeth or chain are the cause.

4 wheel drive quit at some time didn't know it...drives fine only rear wheels pulling..could it be electrical ??

I hava a 1999 Grand cherokee loredo V8 with full time 4wheel drive. when the rear tires slip I am hearing a poping noise in the front end when the 4wheel drive engages. I was told by one person that it could be the chain in the transfer case slipping but I was told by a jeep salesman that this year jeep did not have a chain. Could this be the CV joints in the front axels?

Chain Slipping

Your chain would have to be incredibly loose to slip the sprocket. Enough that it would come off the bar before jumping the teeth on the rear sprocket. Highly unlikely.

How to remove chain drive on makita Dcs6401-20?

HI , FIRST UNDO BOTH SIDE COVER BOLTS ON THE CHAIN COVER AFTER MAKING SURE THE CHAINBRAKE IS IN THE OFF POSITION,[BRAKE LEVER PULLED BACK].TAKE THE TWO NUTS OFF REMOVE THE COVER,LIFT THE BAR SLIGHTLY AND PUSH IT TO THE REAR.THAT WILL LOOSEN THE CHAIN SLIP THE CHAIN OFF THE BAR AND REMOVE THE BAR ,ONCE THE BAR IS OUT OF THE WAY ,YOU TAKE THE CHAIN OFF THE SPROCKET BEHIND THE CENTRIFICAL CLUTCH AND SLIP IT OUT AROUND THE BACK. AFTER CLEANING EVERY THING ,PUT IT ALL BACK THE SAME WAY .YOU WILL HAVE TO SCREW THE ADJUSTER BACKIN SO AS TO EASILY FIT THE BAR TO THE ADJUSTER PIN ,IT IS NOT DIFFICULT AND AS YOU SEE THE PARTS IT WILL FALL INTO PLACE

While riding, the 4th and 5th gears do not engage promptly when you clutch and shift the gear. It sort of goes into neutral as one disengages the clutch and accelerate and then falls in place (ie 4th or...

This behavior is the symptom that your clutch plates are getting worn out. Since power is transmitted from the cam shaft to the front sprocket (smaller dia) is better at lower gears but once the rpm increases the clutch plates do not catch up with the cams rotation, hence slipping at higher gears & in between 4th & 5th gears the pulling power of the engine seems to go to neutral before engaging again. Check your clutch plates as well as the sprocket-chain- rear sprocket for wearing out of the gear teeth & replace if required. You will get back full power & acceleration as when the bike was new.............sodeep

Do it yourself. There is no need for any repairs - you just have to put the chain back on wheel. Take a look on another chain in the clock and put the slipped chain back on wheel exactly in the same way as another chain. Use tweezers to reach the chain.
