GE Refrigerator slow to make cubes

I have a GE refrigerator that is about 10 years old. The model number is TBX22QA. A couple of weeks ago the ice cube maker started to slow down in it's manufacture of ice cubes. It hasn't stopped. It's just slow. Sometimes when I stick my finger in the tray is there is no water. But, other times there is and it does occasionally kick out a tray of cubes.

I checked the temperature in the freezer and it is well below zero degrees fahrenheit. The fact that it does make cubes occasionally tells me that it is getting water.

What can I check

My frigidaire ice maker is slow in production. I just replaced the water filter (thinking that may be it). It picked up in production, but has slowed down again. Any ideas? I use the heck out of my icemaker...do they go bad and need replaced? Is it just tired and wore out?

I had the same problem with mine a month ago. The plastic feed tube to the water solenoid valve was cracked and letting a large portion of the water go under the fridge on the floor. I just cut the cracked tubing off at the valve/fitting area and inserted good tubing into the fitting and tightened it up, it has been perfect since!

Loud noise from freezer of GE model GSF25TGTB (Side by side)

Problems not related.  The first is most likely the fan, or possibly water dripping on to the fan and freezing, but usually the noise comes from the fan struggling to run.  The cube problem could be as simple as the ice dispenser being put back in wrong.  There is a metal lever under the ice tray that switches between crushed and cubed.  Make sure it is seated properly.

There is a sheet of ice forming in the ice cube tray and a larger one forming on the bottom of the freezer. The GE refrigerator is only 6 months old.

Because the sheet of ice is forming on the ice maker first it leads me to believe the water control valve for the ice maker is leaking water into the ice maker when it should be off. A filter installed before the dual water control valves would also be helpful. If you could find the model number of your refrigerator I would be able to tell you the part number. Sea Breeze
