Wireless router I do not know my password

My Linksys wireless router uses a different password to setup a wireless connection with the SSID (wireless account name) than the password for logging into the router for administrative purposes.

So I suspect you need a different password. However, without knowing which make/model of router you have, I can't help you identify where to find the information for your wireless setup.

Its very easy and very simple.
follow these steps to get your router Wireless password.

Fist find out Default Gateway of your computer

Click start>>run then type CMD in run box>>>Hit Enter>>it will show you a black dos window>>type there ipconfig>>>now look for your default gateway IP Address.

It could be 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 or somthing else.

Type your Default IP address Into your Browser Address bar >>Press Enter>>it will ask you for user name and password to Access router page>>User name could be Admin and password could be password

OR

it could be Admin and Admin and if it sill not accept it then You can also call your Internet Service Provider to know what is your user name and password for router.

Once it accepted the user name and password you will the Router Page open.

Now you look for Wireless option and click on it there you can see your Wireless Security Password.

If you still have any difficulties to know your router Wireless Password then My best Recommendation would that You can get help from you internet Service provider and they will definitely let you know that What is your Router Wireless Password.

Routers has two password. First is the admin user interface password. Second is the wireless password. If you are asking for the wireless password, just connect the computer to the router using a regular LAN cable then access its admin site. Some routers admin site is 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 (depends on the router). Go to wireless security menu once you are inside the router homepage. You will see the password once you are inside the wireless security. You may also change the wireless password there.

You need to know the password for your wireless signal. If you do know it, use the second laptop to search for your wireless name. Click on your wireless signal, and click join or connect. When prompted, type in your wireless password. If you don't know your wireless password, you are going to have to reset your router. Then you will have to connect a ethernet cable between the router and a laptop to access the router's menu to create a new wireless name and password. Open your web browser (like Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox) and go to the address Http://192.168.1.1 The password should be blank.

Step 1 : Connect - Router - Computer ( Wired )

Step 2 : open Router Setup by typing http://192.168.1.1 on the address bar of internet explorer

Step 3 : Default password is admin

Step 4 : Click wireless

Step 5 : Choose wireless security

Step 6 : Here you can find the Password

Step 7 : Try to connect with this password

Which password do you ask? Router's password or wireless security password? For the router's password, by default it is admin in lower case. No username. If you are asking for the wireless security password, you need to login to the router's setup page and get the wireless password

You need to know the IP address of the router. Mostly its 192.168.1.1. It will ask you for a username and password (you should know it or you can use the default password depending on the brand of the router). You should see a wireless tab and there you can configure the wireless settings of the router. Normally the wireless functionality of the wireless router is automatically enabled.

the default router password is admin, no username. if that didnot work, possible that the router password is change during initial set up. try your own personal password

wireless password is different from the router password. if you enable the router wireless security and you dont know what it is, you can access the router setup page and go to the wireless security tab to get your wireless password

What is the brand of the router your using? This information will be from the router that you have. Use a wired connection from the router,check your default gateway (ipconfig) and type that numbers in your address bar. You will be able to access your set-up page, look for wireless tab and look for wireless security. You will see there your WEP key.
