PowerShred C-220 will not shred automatically

Our shredder became jammed. When we unclogged it - it will no longer shred automatically when paper is fed into it. If we push the 'I' button it will run and shred continuously until we push the 'O' button to stop it. It will also run in reverse.

The trash light is always on, even if there is nothing in there. Which in turn will not shred automatically. I can't find where the sensor is on the shredder to "clean up".

OK lets try.
You likely have a photo sensor that detects the paper and it is dirty.
It is likely covered with paper dust (hopefully only on the outside)
Locate the sensor and wipe it off or just wipe the entire throat area.
WITH MACHINE OFF
Hope this helps

How do I get top off to clear Paper Jam on Fellowes PS-12Cs

FELLOWES SHREDDER
In case of a paper jam , which may occur if the shredder is pushed beyond its specified capabilities, press the control switch to the off [O] position and empty the basket if full. Then:
1) Press and hold control switch in reverse [R] position and attempt to back paper out of shredder.
2) If shredder jams in reverse mode, press control switch to automatic [I] position and attempt to continue shredding operation.
3) If shredder jams again, alternate control switch slowly between reverse [R] and automatic [I] positions to attempt to move jammed paper completely through shredder.
If you are unable to clear the jam using this method, turn off and unplug the shredder; remove the wastebasket from cabinet and carefully remove any paper extending below the cutting cylinders; empty the wastebasket; insert wastebasket and repeat jam clearing procedure.

All lights turn on as needed and has power but won't grab paper to shred

suspect paper jam try using reverse button the dislodge paper.
suspect paper feed sensor is blocked or damaged there is a light beem in front of the teeth that starts the shredder if this defective the shredder will not start.
suspect a panel or bin is not correctly seated causing the shredder to not start.

Need a sensor switch for fellows powershred 220. Won't sense paper.

The top sensors may be bad or even the main board that they are connected to is bad. Try cleaning them with a lightly moistened swab or compressed air. Fellowes will sell you the parts.

The "bin full" keeps on coming on

first off, fellowes has had problems with the bin full sensors that sometimes, can only be corrected by replacing them. however, there are two things to check. make sure it doesn't have a bunch of shredded paper hanging down from the cutters. that can trigger the bin light as the sensore are located under the head, but above basket. last, but not least, clean the sensors. they get paper dust on them after awhile causing same indication. if those two things don't fix it, it will have to have sensors replaced.

good luck,
razors
