My sansa e260 has some folders under "MUSIC" that i didn't put in there. when i try to delete or move them it doesn't work. Is there any way I can reset the memory on my mp3? Have tried: removing battery, deleting all files, system refresh, upgrading firmware, downgrading firmware. Is there any other way to fix it other then formatting?
Yeah, thats exactly the problem. I gave up and formattted it, and they come back after 2-3 days and the same problem starts happening again. Got anything else?Yeah, thats exactly the problem. I had this problem, too. The folders don't show up ON the mp3 player, right? Just on the computer? And do they have funny letters for the names?
I've been trying to get rid of them for quite a few weeks now, and I've found that the only way to do that is to format. :(

Go to my computer scroll to sansa or your MP3 player and open the music folder and open each sub folder and delete Songs manually then delete the folders themselfs then format a couple of times hope this works
Try and drag and drop from your music folder to the media folder on the player make sure usb mode is msc this will show you all the folders Use your windows explorer for the transfer... much easier...If you don't have copies of your music copy to a folder on the computer first
MSC will allow you to see the expansion card ( 2Gig E200 series 4gig Fuze) mtp won't.....MTP shows you your music folder in the media folder thats where you put your music plus expansion..... make sure your usb 2.0 driver is installed..Syncing to wmplayer puts music in the mtp music folder. change usb modes again and use the explorer to see the sansa msc lets you sync any Q/A IM or email me @ [email protected]

The e260 works with microSD cards. Your 4GB card is actually a microSDHC card and won't work in the Sansa. With a microSD card, simply put music tracks into a folder called "MUSIC". When the card is installed, the Sansa will see the additional tracks.
Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/DriverDownloads.aspx

Delete from the Windows desktop if possible. Double click on My Computer. Double click on the icon of the Sansa. Go into the music folder and delete from there.

go under settings, and then click usb settings thier should be three types auto format, msc, and mtp. try one mode and see if your music or videos comes up, on the computer until you have tried all three, your data should be placed under 1 of these modes
For everyone having e260 problems here is the answer. First make sure that you have your usb mode on msc before plugging in to the computer. Then go to folder options and select show hidden folders. You now have access to the music folders and can delete music. You can create a new folder or use the music folder for your music. To prevent future problems go to properties on the hidden folders and unhide them.
Yes, it could have quite a bit to do with that (even though I love BearShare).
Here are ways to delete:
