My DSC-T1 is playing up major time. The image is reversed when positioning/taking a shot (something on the right hand side is viewed on the left and vice versa), but when I was able to download it, it was the right way again. Now I can't even download. I fear there is a major problem somewhere and am seriously contemplating a new camera altogether. I have reset the camera this did not rectify the problem. Have rung a Sony repairer, and they said they've never heard of this problem before. Hope someone can help.
I had the same problem with my Sony Cybershot. The LCD image was reversed. Was about to junk the camera but luckily found this thread and tried the fix by lightly knocking the camera on my desk - it fixed it!
Probably a loose connection as suggested by Joe, the knock fixed it for now.

Re: LCD screen image is reversed
This can be a software issue associated with a self portrait feature the camera does not have. Remove the battery and allow to set for a minute, this may clear the fault, if not, send to Sony in Laredo, TX, they will flash the firmware for you.
Hope this helps.
I'm not posting this as a solution but yet a story to share...
I had the same problem with my Canon A510. The screen reversed itself and everything was upside down. I don't know how it happened, possibly from small impacts from everyday use, who knows. I got so fed up with it, I smacked it on my computer desk (not too hard). Now it works great!! Seriously... Something must get knocked out of place and caused it to reverse the screen? Not too sure.
