This morning I woke up and found the desk top dead no lights totally dead. went to Micro Center purchased new power supply. Now I have a light at the top of the mother board but thats it no fan function on any of the fans no blinking power switch. Does not even try to turn on I have read on here that others have had this problem. Im not real computer savy but do understand board components and functions. there are no scorch marks around capacitors it seems that the power supply is not being turn on by the mother board. as there is no voltage output to the hd or cd rom. I would love to here any suggestions thanks Joe

Go to Control Panel, (top right View Small Icons). Then look for Power Options. On this page, you'll have the option to leave the monitor on. You should also check "Advanced Power Options". Don't be afraid of the word, "Advanced." It only means "customizeable"
If your mouse isn't waking your monitor, try the keyboard's space bar. I found it works better than the mouse at waking a sleeping computer
jtoddweaver, Check out some YOUTUBE videos of lcd monitor disassembly and lcd monitor repair so you will know what you are looking for that is bad on your unit's "switch-mode-power-supply" printed circuit board. If you do the repair to the board, please document your "tear-down" with video or digital still pictures so you can complain to OLEVIA about poor quality capacitors they installed on power supply and also aid in the reassembly process. Do some reading in the fixya profiles of "budmrtn" "buddymc" "12fixlouie" and follow links you find there. Bye for now 12fixlouie
fiona_sheeha, If ACER warranty service not an option, then unit will need local tech to troubleshoot unit's power supply/inverter circuit for possible COMMON and repairable printed circuit board fix. You must read more of my fixya profile and visit the web links you find there so you will know and understand what ALL your options are!!! Some units require less than $5 in parts to refurbish them to working status. Your "cold-cathode-fluorescent-lamp" backlit LCD monitor isn't any different than any other brand of monitor in it's basic operating principles!! I hope this helps. 12fixlouie
