I can take pictures and see 1000+ pictures in my camera. But when i connect camera to my computer using USB, it shows "no pictures" on camera to download. I am not able to download pictures off camera to my computer.
When you plug the USB in to the computer, is your system recognizing
the camera (ie is there software/drivers for this camera)? If your computer does not have the required drivers or software, it will act as if the camera is not there. Most cameras/electronics are "plug and play", meaning they automatically download the drivers when you plug in the USB, but older cameras and/or some versions of windows don't have this feature. My camera (also a cannon) has to be off when plugging in the USB, then I switch the camera on and it finds it. If you have no disc, you can download any drivers on the website of the brand.
Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Try updating the Zoombrowser software.
If you have a connection to the camera, go into my computer and get images directly off the camera using scanner and camera wizard, microsoft's default program. This will at least allow you to transfer your images until you can resolve the software problem.
If you have no connection to the camera via your computer, you need to try some other troubleshooting steps to get a connection. I will post those below in the next post.

It's very hard to troubleshoot software problems online, and it likely is a software issue. You may fix it, but it will pop up again some day. Camera/cable interface problems are notorious. But why put up with the headache of these software problems? Please see the following post, as it outlines a much easier, faster, and less error prone alternative way to download your photos:

am not sure how offten do you used the USB but in my case I use it frecuentely I own a kodak and I have to replace the USB cord at list every 4-5 times i use it.
I recomend u to buy a new one if this works the problem was in your old cord but if this wont work either you can returne the USB cord, its only to see if your old cord is the problem wish am 99.99% that it is .

When i plug USB into the computer, camera is recognized. I am using microsoft's "Camera & Scanner Wizard" to download pictures from camera. This utility shows ZERO pictures. When i use windows explorer to explore camera drive that also shows ZERO pictures.
