Same problem. Washed in the pants. I tried disassembling it,(battery and the back off only), and putting in the oven at 150 degrees for about 20 minutes. Still won't boot. Tried putting it in a jar of rice for two days, still the same. I don't know what stopping the power getting to the switch, the screen, etc. There is a full 3.7v charge in the battery but I don't know why the power can't get to the switch. If all else fails and with nothing to loose, I have to strip it right apart, try and trace the power lines with a meter to find out if there is something I can clean or replace to get it working again.

Wish me luck. I'll post with the outcome

My mp4 has a few critical difficulties.

this means the hard ware isn't meant to be washed and is broken so the best course of action would be to buy a new mp4 player

Sansa e280

You have a version 2 player. If you look at the back of your player in the bottom right hand corner, you will see v2 in tiny letters after the e280. When the v2 players first came out, they didn't have the USB option. About 2 weeks ago Sandisk came out with a firmware update 3.01.14, which returns the USB option. Go to:  http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/DriverDownloads.aspx  download the sansa firmware updater, follow the instructions and it will upgrade your firmware to get your USB option.
If your have any further questions or problems with your player go to the sansa e200 forum for additional help:  http://forums.sandisk.com/sansa/board?board.id=e200&page=1

Need instructions

I don't know if you have found intructions yet, but I had to print mine online. Just go to sandisk.com/Assets/File/Downloads/user-guides/c200-ug-eng.pdf I know that's long, but hey, it pops right up. Good luck.
