Mitsubishi X490U Multimedia Projector Logo

Question about Mitsubishi X490U Multimedia Projector

1 Answer

Reverse Image My projector is mounted in the ceiling, upside down for frontal projection. When the unit is turned on, the image is upside down. I use Menu / Installation / Image Reverse / Mirror Invert to achieve the correct projected image. However that selection is not remembered by the projector once the unit is turn off and on; the Mirror Invert option needs to be selected upon each power-up. How can I get the unit to project the proper image each time it's turned on?

My image is upside down after I mounted my projector to the ceiling

There are projection mode settings which will allow you to adjust the orientation of the image. Adjusting this setting will rotate the image so that it is not displayed upside down when attaching the projector to the ceiling.

To activate this setting:

  1. Press the Menu button on the projector.
  2. Using the Arrow buttons, select the Image icon on the left side.
  3. On the Image screen under the Projection label, select the icon that represents ceiling mounted projection. Note: You may see both front and rear ceiling mounted projection modes. You may choose which ever best suits your needs.
  4. Press Menu on the projector controls to exit the settings menu.

MY EPSOM PROJECTOR IMAGE IS UPSIDE DOWN. WHAT DO I DO?

Hi, Your projector is probably set for ceiling mount which will project an upside down image because the projector is normally mounted upside down when installed on the ceiling. Go into the menu and select extended then select projection then select front. That should return the image to right side up.

Mounting the Projector from the Ceiling

Projectors, in general want to project the bottom of the image 1 foot above the lens at a typical range. When mounted upside down, they project the top of the image 1 foot below the center of the lens. If you don't want to turn the projector over, you'll have to change the angle and probably go to the extreme on the keystone correction.

Viewsonic PJ513DB DLP Projector projects upside down

Double check which menu item you are expecting to find the orientation. It might even be under 'image', 'settings', or its own button not in the menu, Jon.

Image on screen is upside down

The orientation of your projector can be setup from the "Option" menu. You may need to select the "FRONT" and "CEILING" options to display the correct orientation of the image.
