Need to insert battery to zippy's optical mouse

First thing is to insert a new battery.

Instructions

1. • 1Hold the mouse in your hand, press down on the battery compartment cover (the back of the mouse) then slide it off.
   • 2 Insert two AAA batteries into the mouse. Make sure the positive and negative terminals match up with the diagrams inside the battery compartment.
     
   • 3
   • Replace the battery compartment cover.
   • 4 Connect the USB receiver to a USB port on the computer. The computer will acknowledge that a new device has been installed and you will be prompted to install the software.
     
   • 5 Insert the software installation disc into the optical drive. Follow the instructions provided by the installation wizard to install the software.
     
   • 6 Press the link button on the receiver, then turn the mouse over and press the link button on the mouse. The mouse is ready for use.
     

If it has batteries inside it, replace the batteries, being sure to keep the correct "polarity" when inserting the new batteries.

Otherwise, just responsibly recycle it, and buy a new mouse, because a new mouse is cheaper than paying a professional technician to try to trouble-shoot and maybe repair it.

Check the batteries and the receiver,

You can remove the batteries for 2 mins. and put it back in, also you can try to restart the wireless receiver.

If the mouse light is not turning ON even though you have new batteries and the mouse is turned on, then you need to contact the manufacturer for RMA.

Look on the bottom of the mouse for a small buton (see red arrow on image below). Press it and the battery holder will come loose.Insert a new battery and replace.

Battery Installation Battery Compartment Cover 1) Grip the front of the mouse (the end with the buttons) with your left hand. 2) With your right hand hold the back of the mouse (end opposite the buttons) with your thumb on the bottom, and your index finger and middle finger resting on top. 3) Grip the mouse firmly, pressing down slightly on the GE logo on top of the mouse with the index and middle finger of your right hand, then pull back to release the battery cover. 4) Set the battery compartment cover aside. Insert 2 AAA batteries, being sure to match the polarity of the batteries with the polarity markings inside the battery compartment. 5) Replace the battery compartment cover. 6) Re-link your mouse.

I would suggest trying new batteries as well as making sure the receiver is about 8in to 12in from the mouse and at least 6in from the monitor. If you are still not able to connect, uninstall any drivers you have install for this mouse, reboot your pc and reinstall the software 1st, then connect the hardware and reboot your pc.

usually on the bottom of the mouse there is a little door with two notches or a single vertical notch which you need to carefully pry open and then insert your batteries as shown inside with + and - denotions.

Normal 0 If the mouse doesn't have a little door to open on the bottom, then try this. Just behind the Left and Right keys where your hand rests, apply firm pressure down on the cover and slide to the rear. Some mouse manufactures have used this type of access to replace the batteries.
