I've heard where other people have replaced thier box and remote several times. FIOS is in denial and will offer bogus solutions even when they know they have a compatability issue.

SOURCE: Toshiba CF32H50-no control from remote

Could be the remote does not operate on the correct frequency, but also may be the IR reciever sensor inside the TV, best bet is to bring your remote to a pawn shop and try it on a set there (they sell older model sets look till you find one like yours). once you determine the remote is OK, check the IR sensor for bad solder connection or replace it by soldering a new one in. Also some Toshibas develop micro CPU issue (the computer IC), another thing you can try is cleaning the main board control area with electrical cleaner residue can load down the control circuits but then the buttons would also malfunction.

Cant get closed caption off, dont have originial remote and theres no way to do it under the menu, any soutions?

Hello there

Some Verizon Fios remotes use the * key (star - below number seven) to switch closed-captions on and off. It may also have "CC" written next to it. It should be as simple as pressing this key to switch them off.

You also need to make sure the remote is in the correct mode. Press the big pink "FIOS TV" key before pressing the "* / CC" key . If this doesn't work, press the "TV" key (under the power key) first, then press the "* / CC" button again.

This should solve your problem. If not, please reply to me from within this page with the model number of your Insignia TV.

BElectric

Cant use fios remote to power/volume

Yesterday I called Dynex at 1-800-305-2204. The rep gave me 0463 which didn't work when I called VERIZON FIOS but the Dynex rep did inform me during the call that if it didnt that Dynex is comparible with Orian, Emerson, Memorex, Sansui, Sylvania and Zenith. So any of these tv codes should work. The code of Orian which is 0490 indeed worked!!!! And when you call Verizon make sure when they help you program your remote that they do the second step if they dont tell you which is add the code 799 which will let you just push STB then Power to cut on/off the tv. My bedroom tv, I always pretty much had to use the tv remote to cut on and off but when the Verizon rep gave me that step for the original tv I was having problems with told me this step, I had her walk me through the other tv remote and add that code and its great. She said that alot of technicians just been taught the other way. Hope this info help you.

Philips 50" flat screen - Closed captioning won't turn off

on my magnavox it was the verizon fios remote that enabled it by accident (it is tuned to control the tv) however it was a cc button represented by the * on the remote that i had to select to change the cc. this didn't make it go away so i just pressed buttons i used the "Aspect" button represented by the # it changed the ratio and the message went away. I usually only use the fios remote to turn the tv on and off but this must be some whacky override that comes from the fios remote.

NEED REMOTE CODE

Go on the Verizon website and request a new remote, the Verizon P265 Remote model. It will have all the newest firmware and it should have the code. I know this because I had a TCL 32" TV and the code wasn't on my old Philips RC 1445302 model. TV and new remote are "talking" just fine now. Verizon won't even want the old one back.

Universal TV remote control

Target sells a GE Universal Remote Control, 5 Device with learning feature. I can't say if it works with your Verizon DVR, but its code for the Akai LCT3285TA is 1139. If you have the Verizon's remote, you should be able to use the learning function to make the GE control it - that's if the GE doesn't have a built in code that will work for this DVR.
