I cannot shut down my computer when i press shut down my computer will restart.

To see if the problem is in the setting and not a hidden crash just type this command
SHUTDOWN -s -t 01
If with it the pc shuts down then go to Control Panel, click Power Options, click the Advanced tab. In the Power Buttons section, under “When I press the power button on my computer,” select “Shutdown.”

Acer Aspire AS 3410, OS - WIN XP, shut down not work.

that means the drivers which you had installed is not working properly. u need to download the drivers of audio video & NIC card . check out the site. support.acer-euro.com/drivers/downloads.htm. make sure you have SP3 for XP.

I got problem with my acer aspire 3410, the system can not shut down normally. I always press little longer the power button to shutdown windows xp sp2. how to solve the problem? thanks if i use windows...

Hi there please try these mentioned below.

1. Restart the PC and repeatedly hit F8 until you have a menu in front of you.

2. You will find few option there. Just select these mention option " Last know good Configuration ...." use by your up/down arrow on your keyboard.
3. Press enter there.
4. your will see the system asking you for which OS you want to use. If you have only one OS then just press ENTER there or select the OS and Enter.

After these if you face the same problem then format the OS & install it again.Thanks & waiting for your feedback.

My acer aspire 4315 hangs during shutdown. windows XP OS

Hi,

This happens when there is a process still trying to work in the back end.

Try to disable most of the applications which get opened by default when windows starts.

Click on start/run/ and type msconfig. Once the window comes up click on start up tab and disable all.

Now try to reboot the system.

Also hope there is no usb device connected at the time of shut down. This would also make xp hang.

My acer aspire 4315 turns white screen anytime am using it.

It's caused by a defective LCD inverter. Very common problem.

Automatic shutdown, crashing applications & no startup repair

Yes, sounds like some of you applications may have become corrupted. It happens over time. Find the backup program if XP >start>accessories>system tools>backup on Vista just type "backup" in the start box. You will see and option to back up all of your docs., email, web favorites, etc. Back them up then use the Windows disc reload the operating system You will also, have to reload your applications. I have problem when installing windows xp

are you install OS inside you notebook is windows xp profesional SP2???? because follow my information the rest of driver can istall just by the acer cd driver only driver display and wireless you nees to download from other link internet.

Acer Aspire 4315 using Windows XP Pro SP2 RAM 1GB i downloaded all driver for this laptop on http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_4315.html
After i install everything, install Office 2003 Pro, ESED NOD32, then my system cannot shutdown.
Even when i did restart, the system won't restart. It will show "System is shutting down", but never shutdown.
