Hello,
Did you plug your AC adapter in and then try to turn it on? It may be that your battery ran out of power. Try to plug your AC adapter into your laptop, wait about 2 minutes for the battery to charge, then turn on your laptop. If that doesn't work, you may need to replace your battery. The battery on that laptop is fairly cheap, ranging in price from $10 used to $60 new. If that doesn't work, your power button may need to be fixed. You then need to have it fixed by a reputable computer repair store.
Hope that helps. Good luck!
SOURCE: I need a user manual
If you were to log on to the
manufacturer's web site, I think you will be pleasantly surprised as
usually one is able to download, by model number, Customer
Instruction Manuals, list
of Dealers,
for spare parts and service, Driver
downloads
and
Installation Instructions
as required. Just Google the manufacturer's name and
follow the links. Make certain you are directed to the manufacturer's
web site as some search engines direct you to other sites and they
charge for the information that is normally free of charge. I hope this helps.

It sounds like you registry has a bad configuration for your drive. Here's how to test it: This fix has helped me many times, but make sure of the correct registry entry before deleting anything, and do an export before starting (file/export) save it somewhere on your hard drive. If it works for you then you can remove the backup file.
Can you see the drive
listed in BIOS? If you change the boot order to 'CD first' with a
bootable CD inserted, does it boot to the CD or to Windows?
If
it's listed in BIOS but can't be seen in Windows Explorer, go to
Start > Run > regedit. Remove the Upperfilters and
Lowerfilters values from this registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \
SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Class \
{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
Then reboot.
Important:
Make a backup (export) before making any changes to the registry.

I using Synaptics.......Go to Start, Control Panel, Mouse. Select Device Settings and then Settings. All required options will be there. If no Synaptics then go to the HP web and enter your model of computer and OS , then to software and driver downloads. There you will find the software and drivers required to give full functionality of the touchpad features. If not found there go to Synaptics web site and look for drivers and utilities for your OS version.

Try pressing it without the Fn key, sometimes it gets switched up. If this doesn't work, try restarting the computer.
