The daewoo DP 42SM has ugly picture like GHOST in human. Recently, I tried to elimiate the green dots, red dot scatter around the screen, I adjust Vs, Vdd...etc, however there are still few dots on the screen, I re-adjust again, for some reason my crew driver touch the board and make the picture worst one that I ever seen, does anyone know what the problem is? did I shorted a diode, mosfet..transistor..etc? Do I need to replace the whole board, I hope I did not cause to burn out plasma elememts...Thanks for your help, please email to [email protected]

What might be happening is the backlighting and or its circuitry is going bad.

The backlight is an internal control, and the root problem should be found, and not adjusted to. The cause of the decay of your backlight should be investigated first. Adjusting will only lead to eventual burn out of the plasma elements. If you wish to troubleshoot this issue I'll be willing to provide some starting points as long as you have a background in eletronics. If you do not have a background in electronics, I would suggest that you have the set looked at by a qualified electronics repair technician.

    I hope this helps,

    Thank you,

Image looks dull

If the problem is same with different input devices and you have ensured there are no loose contacts in power outlet, RC jack, cable and sockets, the TV needs servicing.

I can not find any contrast controls on my Toshiba Satellite A305. On the whole, the colors are dull and wash out. The brightness controls must be set at 100% for any moderately accepable image. But there...

There isn't any contrast controls on TFT screens, it's color response depends on the maker of the panel.
If your PC has a Intel or NVidia graphic card, you can modify some color settings from the video driver like gamma or contrast. For NVidia cards, there is a setting called "Color Vibrance" or "Digital Vibrance", increase that.
On Intel cards, right click on the desktop, go to graphic properties, color correction.

Dark image

Flyback transformers usually have 2 adjustable rods - 1 is for focus the other is for screen (G2) voltage. try turning Clockwise the Screen adjust with brightness-contrast at max. Till you see white diagonal lines, then go back until the lines disappear - then tune the brightness to your desired level.

Image adjustment functions

SHARPNESS - The function is to adjust sharpness of capturing images. CONTRAST - The function is to adjust contrast (distinction between light and dark) of capturing images. SATURATION - The function is to set color depth of capturing images. GRADATION - In this function, you can select the brightness of an entire image. It is suitable when you want to add a brighter effect to a bright object (Hi Key) and a darker effect to a dark object (Low Key).
