Can you give us some details, is it displaying any error messages, any lights on, any sounds (beeps, fans), something to start with.

    Starting with the basics:
-Make sure the power cord is working by using a know good.
-Plug the power cord from the computer directly into a tested wall socket (an easy way to make sure the socket works is to plug a light in it).
-While looking at the power supply fan try turning it on again. Does the fan itself move at all?
The remainder of the things to check will require opening the PC case, if you are not comfortable with or if you don?t have some basic tools this then you should consider taking the computer to a repair shop. If you are lets continue:
-Make this as basic a machine as possible: remove any add in cards (except primary video card), unplug mice, remove all USB components, reduce the size of your memory (RAM) and if you have multiple hard drives remove all except your boot drive. Restart, does anything change?
-Verify the power switch is working correctly. Note that you will need a multi-meter to test the switch.
-With the case open turn your computer on and listen closely for any sounds like hard drives or fans starting up.
-Test the power supply or switch out with a know good one.
-Try a keyboard you know works, I admit this is a desperation move but if you get this far we?re running out of things to try.

If its none of the above I would suspect a damaged motherboard or possibly a processor. Since your PC is eight years+ old its probably not worth inventing any additional money or time in unless you have access to some older parts.
