Question about Black & Decker Spacemaker (ODC440) 12-Cup Coffee Maker
After only a few months, the water will not cycle through the unit. It starts, puts through a couple cups then quits. If we shut it off and turn it on, it does a couple more cups. How do we fix this?
This coffee makeer should be pulled off the market compleatly, mine died after a couple of months and it was only used on the weekends.

Mine did the same thing for a month after being only 3 months old. Then it Quit completely ; no deplay even. I took it apart, traced the circuit, and found a bad component. It appears to be some sort of diode, but I can't tell because there are no markings on it. There are two of them in series clipped to the heater, but each has a different color coding. If i jumper arround the second one the unit works, but I an afraid to use it this way as it was obviusly there for a reason. (may start a fire or something) Anyway, this is the second Black & decker ODC coffee pot that took a dump on me and I will never buy another of their products. I attempted to obtain this part from black and decker, but the refuse to sell it to me. They say the unit is not customer serviceable. **** ; Why should they sell me a part that might cost oll of 50 cents when they can sell a whole new unit or charge a fortune for them to repare it. Good luck with yours.
