I have a GE Spacemaker 7-5300 that I purchased in December 2006. The CD player worked at first but now it does not. When I put in a CD, either new, old, etc., the display blinks "cd". Then, it will finally display "nd". I have tried cleaning the CD player and also unplugging the unit for awhile. I had no luck getting the unit to play a CD. Any suggestions on how to remedy this problem? Thank you.
Yea this one is kina easy to fix, alot of cd players that are older or even more exposed to dust get dusty lens, you can try to wipe the lens and it should work but make sure you do it with a soft cloth and really softly, if that dosent work that the lens is broken and that isent replaceable your self you would have to go through the company. sorry hope the wiping works. if it dosent i will try and help you further

Yes Same Problem!
I also have the same problem. It worked when I first got it, but was very picky about which CD's it would play, such as it wouldn't play any burned CD's only factory. Then it stopped working completely. It just tells me that there isn't a CD in there machine when in reality there is. I even bought a cleaning CD, but it won't even play that.
