Power up I have a Satellite m35-s320 laptop; it will not start. I have it plugged in to the power and the battery is out; the blue light is on to indicate it is connected to the power source, but when I push the start button nothing happens...any ideas?

This is probably a power circuit failure (inside the laptop) It will need, in this case, to replace some components on the mainboard. Or the laptop can't send the "power on" signal properly to the charge circuitry due to a short circuit/open circuit in the way of this connector. Either of those are pretty bad things, they need to be solved by a service center. Sorry for I can't assist you in a more usefull way.

Replacing M35-S359 motherboard with one from S320?

If the M35-S320 case is OK and the M35-S359 screen is OK and will fit the M35-S320 then I would swap the LCD screen lid and inverter over to the M35-S320 including the hard drive from the M35-S359.
It would be less work and with luck it might boot up, if not you might be able to do a system repair, worst case, you will need to reinstall Windows. Plus you have a spare drive from the M35-S320 which you can use as an external hard drive with an USB hard drive adapter case.
