You have Intel i845-ITE8712 chipset with 1.7GHz cpu. I will just upgrad the SDRAM from 256 MB to 1GB (two 512MB 133MHz DIMM SDRAM).
You can install 2.4/2.6 400 MHz You will gate more performance.
Or can install 2.8 400 celeron

Easiest thing to do is go to www.crucial.com and run their Scan Program. It works well. It will tell you what kind of RAM you need, how much you now have and the max you can install.
