Get the model and type number off the engine and you can go to a website like partstree.com or others and with the brand and the model and type number you can get diagrams of the engine.
The B & S Code is the date of Mfg. This engine was built in 1994 (first two digits rep. the year), Sept.( the next two digits rep. the month) and the second day of that month. Your engine was built on Sept.2,1994. Your chipper may be one year newer as the engine had to be installed after the date of mfg. Your welcome From North Carolina
Don't know where you can get a manual, you never stated the model number, but you could contact the factory and talk with an engineer about whatever problems your having. (There are also parts still available for these older fellas).
I would check with an MTD dealer. I look online and found a site for the chipper blades and they wanted $40.00 USD for each. It may be worth your time to take the other ones out and get them sharpened. Good Day.
