Question about Samsung HCL4715W 47" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Power just clicks on and off and the red power led remains on

Just before the extended warranty the converance went out and was replaced, now about 6 months later the set will not power up. Just looking for a little direction, I can do some repairs and troubleshooting myself and our local repair shop gave up without a repair schematic but I've located one and have a copy on hand. Thanks.

Thanks, I did find that Q473 is shorted, R486 (R468) did check OK, not open. I'll research on how to check the HV block before I order any parts or maybe not, it's only $54.00 for both items...Thank you all so much and I'll keep you posted.

Well, no luck, I just installed the new parts, and there's no change at all..... Thanks, Rory.

Check for a shorted transistor Q473, and R468 may be open as well (0.47 ohm @ 2 Watt). If it is shorted, try to find a good replacement part as the Samsung Part Aa96-00037a is No Longer Available. Also there is a possibility that the High Voltage block is also bad, if so, replace with Part Aa26-00101a. Good Luck!

Sony KDS55A2000 Red Blinking Light Issue

first off
For the KDS55A2000, 9 blinks, pause, 9 blinks means "Device error" and the probable cause locations listed are as follows:

1. Temperature sensors
2. Bus decoder ICs (IC2000, 3150, 3200, 8804)

These are starting points for qualified service technicians. There is a service bulletin for this issue, but it is intended for use by qualified service technicians.
I found that it refers to a problem in the "zero crossing detector" circuit on the "G" board. I resourced the part from an electronics warehouse and found out that the "G" board has a known weakness and high failure rate The part cost me $73+$47 fedex shipping
The "G" board may be the only "plug n' play" board in the whole set

Blank LCD laptop does turn on

I beleave you may need to press the function key as well as the F-4 key to bring up an external monitor.
Try holding down the Function key and tapping the F-4 key while watching the screen on the external monitor.
Is your unit within warranty, HP offer an extended 1 year on top of your normal 1 year warranty for video and motherboard issues.
Hope this has helped.

Mitsubishi DLP overheating

Mitsubishi has problems with the thermal sensor going bad. They extended the warranty for several sets. The sensor is right by the lamp. Call mitsubishi and insist they do something for you. If you keep playing your set, the bulb could also be at risk. I would think your set is covered being a 62" set. Good-luck and be sure to act ASAP.

Sorry to hear that. You could fix it with Best Buy or the warranty service repairman recommended by Panasonic.com
I have a client that had used one of the panasonic repairman to fix the same problem that you have about a year ago,the TV is good ever seen.
I am in the A/V installation business, my recommendation(Pioneer Kuro Plasma TV or Sharp LCD.)Very good track records from my clients.

Hi, Toshiba extended the warranty of the M35 till Nov. of this year for this same problem. If you just contact Toshiba support, they'll rplace the board no charge. I've had a few repaired. They only take a few days. Good luck,
