Conversion of polaroid land camera casettes to vcr or dvd

I have old polaroid polavision land camera casettes (#608) with movies from my children. They are over 30 years old. I have the polaroid polivision land camera but it does not work. I would love to get these films converted to vcr or dvd. They are memories that I can't view. Any suggestions?

What lovely memories must be stored. I am quite happy to offer my services to convert these movies to DVD. Whilst most companies would not touch Polavision cassettes, I am able to do this no problem.  Please contact me regarding quantity, etc. and I will give you a reasonable offer.

I can't get any sound when I put a DVD in to watch. I can see the movie. When I switch over to VHS, it works. I can see and hear the movie fine. Whats wrong with my Emerson EWR20V5?

Make sure that the DVD type matches the selected menu and the sound requirement, check with another DVD - original - to confirm.
The fault seems to be with the audio processing section with the DVD main board. The VCR has a different circuits and then connects to the preamp after processing from the audio section which is seperate. In the case of the DVD the optical processing and the DIgital/ Analogue conversion section is having issues and so the audio signals are absent.
Need to check on the main board as it can be related to the processing IC.

I want to buy a polaroid polavision land camera that takes small cass. I was wondering how difficult it is to find cass. tapes and to get them put on dvd??? I also was wondering if the videos give you that...

Polavision is a totally dead instant movie system which was discontinued over thirty years ago. If you can still find any original unused film cassettes they will very likely be useless even if they have been kept refrigerated for all of that time. Whether the camera will work reliably on your hard to get film will also be highly questionable.

Unless boxed and in absolutely mint condition, complete with all original accessories, the camera is utterly worthless. If it is in factory fresh condition then it's still likely to be near-worthless unless collectors are competing to buy it.

As you plan to convert any film you shoot to a digital format anyway, you'll be far better off using a modern digital video camera and then using software to create the old amateur home movie look that you want.

I have a number of VHS-C tapes from my various video cameras in the early-to-mid 1990s that I'm transferring to DVD via my DVD/VCR combo device. But several of of these tapes that have the suffix...

VHS-C and S VHS-C are two different animals. Super VHS-C will have much better video resolution than standard VHS and uses better videotape. A standard VCR will not play the Super format. You need a S VHS VCR. You would need not only a S VHS VCR but also a S VHS-C adapter. Yes, Not even the adapter is the same as a standard VHS-C adapter cassette.

You can send out your few S VHS-C tapes to a video conversion service. That might be the least expensive way to get them on DVD. Otherwise you could look on E-Bay.com for either a compatible camcorder (S VHS-C) or the S VHS VCR and the S VHS-C adapter.

http://vhs-to-dvd.com is one video conversion service that should be able to get your tapes on DVD for you. You could also look locally for a video service that does conversions to DVD.

Won,t play dvd on xp pro

Open "My Computer".
Click with the RIGHT mouse-button on the icon for the CD/DVD drive.
Choose 'Explore'.
If your DVD drive is working, some files/folders should be displayed.

Are you using the free 'VLC' software to play your DVD-movie?
If not, search for VLC online, download it, and use it to "play" the movie.

How do I connect my digital camera to the TV so I can playback.

gidley,
Hey that is a classic video camera, very cool, one of the first to have PC connectivity, one of the first to use a firewire connection (fast) to a PC, all that in mind the little docking station that came with it should have video (RCA) type plugs on it that would match up to most TV's and VCR's (if you still have one) DVD players, you can play back your movies. It has the ability to store analog to digital onto your computer - if you have a DVD burner on your PC you can make DVD's out of those old movies with your kids, that would be the way to go. I'll dig around to see if one of my sources still has his manual for this camera. I'll check back with you within the next day.

DVD-VCR Reorder, Model DVD-V5650

Hi.
On the more modern vcrs this problem can be caused by several things, Faulty mode switch, Deck alignment incorrect, reel idler faulty.
I would advise if the machine is only 3mths old it will be still be under warantee so take it back to shop.

Chris.
