Sir i am playing gw8 for last two years today i inserted my pendrive to format its showing write errror...pls help sir

I got this free Pdf manual from an online store for free and I don't think Ive visited a mechanic or fixya for help for more than 3-4 times out of the all the times I fixed the chipper in these 4 years

Which method are you using to update it?

Bit old but hey have you checked under TUNING in MENU SETTINGS? There should be a number of tuning methods. If available, choose EQUAL

I have a GW-8 Roland. its automatically plays. What may be the reason and how to repair?

OK... It is literally impossible for the unit to "go out of tune" as it is crytal controlled... HOWEVER what is probablly happening is the PITCH BENDER is getting into the mix somehow.
If the centering on the pitch bend control is sticking or is loose, this would likely be the problem.
Do some tests with the pitch bender to see if you can detect either a mechanical or offset condition of the control.

You would have to get the circuit schematic from Roland and they may not give that out as it is proprietary. I have circuts for Fantom and Yamaha Tyros and believe me you won't learn anything beyond the block diagram. The circuit details are BURIED inside chips that you probably can't even get data sheets on and certainly can't get or understand the firmware of the internal operating system.

Read pages starting with 49 in your user's manual.

You MUST format the USB flash in the GW-8 before it can be used. Formating in a computer MAY b e inadequate as sometimes the formats have special quirks.

Also pay attention to the MAXIMUM file name length... It is 16 characters MAX !!!!

Hi, Well sorry to say that your pen drive is damaged and you may need to buy a new one. See if its under warranty, you will get a new one otherwise you have to buy a new one. But to be sure that it is damaged try to do following things:- 1.see i fthere is small button on the pendrive.Some pendrives has these button, if your pen drive has then try to push it. It might solve the problem 2.Try to format the pendrive on a Linux server and install the new file system, Sometimes this fixes the problem.
If it does not fix it, sorry to say buy a new one.
