You need to call the internet provider. They more than likely have a different protocol to set up in order for your internet to work.

SOURCE: Toshiba laptop running Vista loses connectivity

The problem is not Vista, the problem is the Netgear. I have seen this happen time and time again with both Netgear (primarily) and D-Link (often). That's why I *only* recommend Linksys.

Worst case - go buy one from Walmart (yes, they have 'em). Hook it up and see the difference. If, somehow, the problem persists, take it back, and you've lost nothing. But I'd bet (as they say down here in the South "dollars to doughnuts") that's your problem :)

Hope this helps - remember to rate :)

SOURCE: the Broadcom wireless network adapter disabled

first you can try and boot to the recovery partition by tapping F11 during start up.
then you can go to advanced options and choose Hardware/driver reinstallation.
then you pick your wireless device from the list. adn reinstall it and restart.
if that does not fix it try this:
remove your a/c cord and remove batter too
-hold power button for 30 seconds and dont let go
-then put battery back on and connect a/c cord
-boot to the BIOS by tapping F10
-when it comes up hit F9 to load it to default settings.
-then hit F10 to save and exit and check it
-if its still not showing up i would suggest a full system recovery
If a full system recovery does not fix it i would have to say you have to replace your wireless card.
Good Luck.

HP has an Extended Service on many of the models with wireless failures.Check whether your computer is eligible for a free repair. You will need the P/N and Model from the Service Tag on bottom.

SOURCE: I recently formatted my Acer Aspire 4732Z laptop

You should have used eRecovery preinstalled on your computer,

if you formatted this unit properly there should be no need for another install of vista,

opps what did you format this unit with???

XP or Vista or windows 7

you only need to reinstall another operating system when you up grade your system, sometimes not even then,
as for the product key on the bottom relates to the install on your machine.
The new vista will come with a different product key,

If you format the drive to install the new vista then the key on the bottom will not work.unless you have the new product key,you could contact Microsoft and ask them to help with the product key, they will want the proof of purchase tho, contact them over the phone ,

Hope this helps,Cheers MISTERDJ

Want to share 922all in one on xp desktop with laptop using Vista

I have a network running both an XP computer & a Vista computer. What I had to do after connecting them both to the router was make an internet connection with 1 computer, turn on the printer so everything the network was going to share was powered on; then run the network wizard on both computers. Once I did this the computer that the printer is not physically connected to installed the printer driver. Once this entire process was completed we had internet on both computers as well as both computers being able to send jobs to the same printer. Has worked great for over a year. Hope this helps you out.

make sure both computers are on the same workgroup.. make sure you have the firewall settings to allow incoming connections to your shared files... make sure you have allowed acces to them in windows security panel..if you can access the media then you are almost there with the setting... fasted way is to right click on start choose explore then right click on drive or folder you want to share and then choose share from menu.. it will change your firewall and security settings so long as you have already turned off the windows advisor..

DNS error when connecting PS3 to internet

you could try getting a wifi adapter and creating an access point, you can connect that way if your ps3 has wifi I have a laptop with windows XP Pro and have been trying that my desktop PC with Vista Home can see it.
MY Components:
-Desktop PC with Vista Home (Main PC, connected to Internet with Ethernet to a Linksys Wireless Router B and G).
-Get internet thru cable TV (broadband),from this cable modem plugs to router and from router to PC Vista(desktop)
-Linksys Wireless G/B Router
-G-Card for my Laptop Windows XP Pro and
-Playstation 3 capable of sharing info and use printer

At the moment all of them have internet w different IP's (000.000.0.001, 000.000.0.002,etc.). What I want to achieve is that I can use the Printer that is connected via USB to my PC Vista (desktop) and share files. Right now the only thing been able to do is that my PC Vista see my Laptop but Can't find my PC on my laptop. Anybody, Help?
-When I turn On my media sharing in my PS3, my internet on Laptop loses it while PS3 search and find, then, because laptop lost wireless, the PS3 looses the laptop and I get wireless back. I knowis a stupid setting but tired of workin back n forth. Thanks

Acer with Windows Vista does not connect to Internet

You're laptop needs to have a profile for the router. Go to Network and Sharing Center, Manage Wireless Networks. Please remove all the listed networks there. Now click on Add, then Add a Network in Range of this Computer. Select the wireless name of your router and connect. If it asks for a network key, please type your wireless security key then connect. That should do it.

Trying to network xp pc to wireless laptop

Right click on the drive you want to share. Ex: C:\Vol-xx = name. In the pop up window click Sharing & Security. This needs done to all the drives you want access too. To share a printer. Everyone must have the printer drivers installed. The Pc that has a direct connection to the printer must also Share the printer on the network. Open Printer & Faxes, highlight the printer you want to share. Click File than click Sharing follow windows instructions.
Small suggestion regards to the wireless side of the network. Suggest you setup security so others close too you can not tap into your network. (common).
