Continues to say acquiring ip address? Singnal strength is excellent! What's the problem?

Quite offer the user name and password have been entered incorrectly. The first action I take is to reset the router back to factory sitting and re-enter your details again. Remember that spaces and punctuation has to be entered exactly as required by your isp. Passwords and sometimes user names are case sensitive. To reset most router there is a reset button at the back of the router which needs to be pressed for up to 30 seconds with power on to complete the reset. Then check your computer/laptop /Tablet to make sure that the password you have used is correct. I start with the router because that is normally the most troublesome.

I do not know my user ID

Your Internet service provider (ISP) requires a username and password to access service features, including Internet and email.
Your ISP should provide this information when you set up your Internet service.
Typically, once you complete the setup and save the information, your router or modem transmits it behind the scenes when you try to access the Internet.
As a result, the username and password can be easily forgotten because they are not used daily. If you reset your router or simply forget the password, gaining access to network resources and the Internet becomes a challenge.

Navigate to your router's Internet Protocol (IP) address using a Web browser, entering the IP as if it were a Web page URL, to view its Web-based configuration page.
This IP address varies by network, but if you run a home network the IP is most likely 192.168.0.1.
Oftentimes there will be an "Account" section where you can view your user name and, if the router's firmware was written poorly, your password in plain text as well.
Look at the original documentation you were given by your ISP.
This documentation often includes your user name and password.
Also, if you use a combined telephone and Internet service, your user name and password are likely identical for both accounts.
Your user name and password may also be the same as your ISP email account.

Check your billing statements.
Some ISPs only require an email address and some personal information to authenticate.
Your billing statement will include additional information, such as your account number, that may be a part of your log in credentials.
Call your ISP and ask them to reset your password. Some ISPs may provide a Web resource for acquiring or resetting your password. Try your ISP's website before you call them.

How to block lan IP

IP filtering is a method used to block computers on an internal network from accessing the Internet. This is often used on critical machines on the network, such as servers. It blocks users from accessing the Internet to protect these machines from malware. You can filter IP addresses on your router using the administrator console provided by the router's manufacturer. Once the block is set up, each user machine listed in the filter settings will no longer be able to access the Internet.

Open your web browser and type in the IP address for your router. For most default settings, the IP for the router is 192.168.1.1. Enter your admin username and password. If you have not set them up, try leaving the username black and the typing "admin" for the password. Click the "Security" tab at the top of the window. This opens a new console screen. Within this screen, click the "Filter" link. A list of text boxes is shown where you enter the IP addresses you want to filter. Enter a range of IP addresses you want to block. You can enter one IP address or several. Click the "Save Settings" button. Hope this helps.

My linksys wrt54g router isn't working right. I can't connect to web wirelessly thru it. Have unplugged and replugged many times. Shows a signal but no connection happens. Connect my laptop to modem with...

If you mean not connecting to the internet. It could be because of incorrect internet settings or possibly the router was reset to factory default settings. If that's the case then all you need to do is access the router's user interface from any device connected to the router's network whether via wired or wireless connection, from any web browser by typing the default router's IP address which is 192.168.1.1, and you'll be prompted to enter the username and password which should be "admin" for both by default. in case you're unable to access the page for an incorrect password then you need to reset and reconfigure the router again. If you're unable to access an incorrect router address, try to check the router's IP address eg: if you're running Windows you can go running and type "cmd" go to command prompt and then type "ipconfig" you should be able to get the IP address default gateway (Either for WiFi or Ethernet, whatever you're connected to) which should be the router's IP address.
Once you access the router's user interference you can contact your service provider and double-check the internet settings with them.
If your device is not powering on it could be because of a faulty power adapter or maybe the device itself is bricked.
Well, you may have such kind of problem with your Linksys router and we have a simple solution for fixing these problems.
make sure your modem is properly connected to the router.
power cycle your router and modem.
once you will power cycle your devices, then you need to go ahead and reboot your router and modem.
press and hold the factory restore button on your router for one minute and reboot your router again. now this will start working fine. if it is still not working then you may visit at Linksys router troubleshooting problems.

I need to get into my nat settings

All Linksys routers have a built-in web-based setup page that allows the user to customize settings and set up advanced properties.

NOTE: Before accessing the router's web-based setup page, make sure the router is powered on and the computer is wired to one of the Ethernet ports on the router (1, 2, 3 or4 ).

I don't know how to reinstall the linksys access point!!! Our wireless network that we made simply disappeared, so I'm trying to re-make one. However, when I tried that with a flash drive, it couldn't work...

T
o access the Access Points Setup, and the LAN IP address has not changed, then computer must have an IP address of 192.168.1.XXX. If the Access Point is plugged in via Ethernet to a Linksys Router and the computer is also connected a Linksys router via Ethernet, then the PC should already have a correct IP address (unless the LAN IP Address of the Router has been changed). If unsure, please assign the computer a Static IP Address so it will have an IP address in the same range as the Access Points IP Address.

If the Access Point is being connected to a hub/switch/router via Ethernet, then use the cable that was provided with Access Point. If the Access Point is being connected to the computer directly, then a Cross Over cable must be used. Cross over cables can be purchased at most electronic stores.
Remember: When ever a change is made in the Setup of the Access Point, the Apply button must be used to save the settings to the Access Point.
  1. Open a web browser (such as Internet Explorer or Netscape)
  2. When the browser opens, go to the "Address" bar and input the IP address of the Access Point.
      Default IP addresses:
    • WAP11 v2.8 - 192.168.1.251
    • WAP54G v1.1 - 192.168.1.245
  3. A "User Name" and "Password" prompt will appear, leave the "User Name" field blank and input the Access Points password (The default password of a Linksys Access Point is admin) into the "Password" field.
