Samsung Plasma PS-42P3S

I am a service engineer and seeking help for the problem of Samsung Plasma PS42P3S. First problem was ,the set was dead. We found rectifire diode for STD BY 5V shorted. After replacing the diode, set started but the picture is like solarised with burning effect. In service mode staircase pattern and all other patterns are OK.indicates that PDP is in good condition. This problem is present in all input modes as well as TV reception Which stage to check now? Thanks Subhash

    Is it necessary to replace entire PCB or any chip which is faulty is to be replaced?

Reparing Samsung PS-50 C430 Plasma TV
Good day.
If you can identify those shorted transistors and you can remove them, you can actually order them from Samsung through this links http://electronicsmarket.com.au. It has everything Samsung, you will not be disappointed. Click on the link, click on Plasma TV's, then click on PS50C430, then (again) click on the version you may have and a list of possible parts will appear for this model. I didn't go through the long list (5 pages), but I believe what you're looking for is there. If not, you can contact them Website and ask not only for the transistors but you can actually get further help with your query.

Not quite enough information here to know what cables your friend needs, but let me stab at this anyway. The HDMI Digital Video/Audio cable is a part number D2412-DDMI6. It's a six foot cable. The IF cable on the other hand is Samsung p/n# AA39-30007B. Does he have the user manual? It should list the cables he is trying to find in the accessories section along with any Samsung part number. Then just go to Samsung Direct at http://www.samsungparts.com and order it... If he doesn't have a user manual he can order that too. Hope this helps. Bill
