Suddenly X bo x sysytem will not read disks

All was fine , then one day.... the X-box sysytem says it can not read the disks evry disk!?????? even games I have played a year ago on this very system it will not read? I cleaned the disks. I cleaned the X-box. I cleaned the laser, and still the same problem, and no improvement? Do the lasers go bad in these? How do I test the laser to determine if it is working properly? How do I replace it if, it is bad? where do I get a replacement laser? I await your replies! 2-08-07

Allright this has happened to me in the past but yes your most likely right its probably the laser. and im really hoping you didn't truly try to clean the laser otherwise you now have to go out and see if your problem is the laser if not by you attempting to clean it...it now is the problem

Ep-8k9a mobo disk access problems

Mo bo has nada to do with reading, writing, disks. That is the domain of the floppy drive and/or optical unit. You replace the latter drives.

The hard disk has only 1.8 MBs read/write average

If it had a bad virus i would start fresh, format the hard drive, and even better low level format it to make sure its completely clean and then start over and see if that helps. If it was fine before the virus and suddenly its slow now i doubt something else just suddenly failed. Most likely the hard drive is still pretty messed up from the virus.

DV10 optoma movie time is suddenly not recognizing DVD disks. It has been working fine for nearly two years. The projector works fine when connected to the TV box. The disk player spins but will not read...

there are dvd cleaning disks that work ok. you can get them at best buy or radio shack. they'll just lightly brush the dust off of the lens on the optical pickup. if the unit is is humid conditions, you'll need to use a lint free microfiber lens cloth and gently brush the dirt off of the lens. if there is stuff stuck to it, you'll need denatured alcohol with a scratch free fiber swab to wash off the lens (don't use a lot of alcohol). blow it dry and test it out.

My x-box 360 wont read its disks

It dos not matter how many time the red ring of death comes up if it comes up once there is something wrong with the X-BO. Try a tech support organization.
Make sure you are putting the game and the right way.
Make sure the disk isn't scratched.

Disk reading

the red ring is horrible and even if you reset it, it will always come back to haunt you..in bad ways such as the disk not being read. you will have to call up microsoft, and with a warranty, hopefully you still have it, you can send it back for no fee and get it fixed!
