Video Attachments Win.XP Outlook Express When I receive video email attachments, some work fine and others play sound and picture, but it stops and goes. These pauses take the joy out of watching them. Is thier any suggestions for fixing this problem? I would really appreciate it. Thank you

I want to thank you for your response. I downloaded "U PlayMe" and tried to open one of my problem email attachments, but it didn't work, but I do appreciate the time and effort you put into your response.
    Have a nice day.

I'm sorry I must have deleted it, but I just ran into another problem with an attachment.
I tried to open it and I received a message
"This folder does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. create an association in the folder"I don't have a clue what this is referring to.
The file type is "Mail Message"
If I encounter another stop and go attachment I'll be sure to send the file type.
    Thank you

I use AVG abd I get automatic updates. I also check on my own to update. I read the AquaFold page that you suggested, but I must admit it's a little to deep for me.
    Thanks for your help.

Hey Bob1927, Can you give us some info about your attachment such as the file extension (the three letters in the file name that follow the .)? With that we may be able to make some additional suggestions.

Bob, just as a reminder be careful with attachments. A big problem I?m seeing right now is a lot of harmful programs being sent as email attachments and discussed as harmless files. You open them up and infect you PC with a virus or worm. Resist the temptation to open up attachments unless you are expecting them and then only if you have a good up to date anti-virus and anti-spyware program running.

It depends on the type of video attachments. Maybe they are links to videos and the pausing is from the delay of downloading them from the internet.

If you are sure that the Email attachment is from a reliable source and then content is potentially safe you can try to download the images to your computer and save it in a folder.

After you have saved the pictures, open the folder containing those picture files and try to open it with Internet explorer.

If it is not ready to open with Internet explorer then you should not try to open it with any other program. There are chances that either the file is corrupted or it contains a Virus or other harmful stuffs.

There are red blocks where images or pictures are suppose to be on all yahoo sites

hi,

Outlook Express comes with a default setting that blocks email attachments from being opened or downloaded. This can be overcome by clicking on Tools>Options>Security, and unchecking "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus." You also need to have "Block images and other external content in HTML email" unchecked.
