Question about Samsung SyncMaster 930B 19" LCD Flat Panel Monitor

LCD 19" Samsung - one half od display has yellow vertical lines

Does anyone know why a monitor would suddenly develop thin yellow vertical lines on just half of the screen? I reinstalled an updated driver, but no effect. I have asked a friend to bring over his monitor so I can check if it may be the video card or something internal. There is nothing magnetic near it and it has suffered no traumas. H E L P

Screen has multiple color vertical stripes on it, no movement, it has slowly gotten worse and worse. Month ago it did it once in a while, turn it off and then back on would usually fix it. Nothing makes a differnce anymore, same vertical stripes, same positions. Any help?

My monitor Samsung syncMaster920N have the same problem. The left half either goes black or a batch of different color band grouped together and keeps changing colors. One mechanic changed the board inside and the problem disappeared for two months and it is back again. He says the LCD panels are not capable of handling high resolution PC games. The problem is ,it is erratic making it hard to find the source of the problem.Any suggestions? Solomon.

Vertical lines are typical of LCD panels that have failed. I would certainly try the monitor on another machine; however, if the problem follows the monitor this is probably going to require some repair work. Unless you have the tools and skills to work on fairly delicate and potentially dangerous components this will be a job for an authorized repair shop. This is surelly a internal failure in the LCD monitor. one of these 2 problems occured. Both of them will however require some profesional service repairs (if they even are possible) 1. You may have a faulty connection between the main board of the display and the LCD pannel. Even if only one wire or one singe pin isn't connected properly the results are pretty spectacular (weird lines on the display, lack of image or weird patterns appearing and so on) 2. The video controller chipset on the mainboard (inside the monitor) is broken and needs to be replaced (however it is a small chance you will find a replacement). I'm sorry if this isn't helpfull but the nature of the problem makes the diagnostic easy but the solving of this problem pretty hard. Good luck.

Thin vertical colour lines on half of the screen

Hello, there is a problem with your monitors picture tube. May be it might have been damaged as a result of over power or even because of over use. Just try to change the picture tube or change your Monitor.

I have a thin yellow line running from top to bottom about 10 inches from the left side, what's wrong?

This can be due to faulty LCD driver IC which creates a noise bar and is shown. Check the cords to the display and also the ground connection to the display. If this is good then the IC can be faulty.

Thin yellow line on the right of the LCD Screen

If it's a straight line from top to bottom panel could be defective. Not much you can do as cost of panel will compare with a new monitor.

Thin yellow line

yea if you cannot stand the line, one of the line's driver for that column has failed. I do not know if the cost of repair would be greater than a monitor. I have been trying to fix a handful of monitors here at work to keep busy, and I am finding that the manufactures won't even offer the repair boards. A google search for a power supply card for an aopen is how I found this board.

On screen thin yellow and blue vertical lines.

Unfortunately the LCD is going faulty.. one or more of the "Driver" transistors that operates the LCD elements RGB, have faulted ON.. perhaps this link may help fix it. Otherwise :( http://www.wikihow.com/Fix-a-Stuck-Pixel-on-an-LCD-Monitor

A thin horizontal line across the screen

I know I have seen thin lines in the past on older CRT monitors, these are usually wires which support the aperture grill. LCD is just a panel so this must be something different. What color is the line? It is probably an error in the scanning process.
