I brought a Mp3 player from my local wal-mart store and about a month latter my tryed to turn on my mp3 and it keep saying "Incorect format please reformat player", and then it will turn it self off. what does that mean and can you help me fix my Mp3 player. Thank you for your time.
I'm not certain what the problem is but it sounds like you might be able to fix it by updating the firmware. I'm guessing that it is an Ilo product. Lenoxx produces Ilo mp3's and you can get information from their site as to how to update. If it isn't there search for firmware and the player name. Good luck.

Triple Reset for Philips’ GoGear: Disconnect the Go Gear from computer. Press the reset pinhole until the player turns off.Hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab.Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions. After repair is complete, upgrade the firmware for this player. Will erase all the songs, but you should be good to go again. -Tha Mp3 Doctor
it keeps freezing when i turn it on it says updating player then it updates it then it turns right back off ive reseted it like 10 times already and i just bault it today 2/24/2008 at wal-mart in borger,tx zip code 79008
This is the worst mp3 player ever invented - i have to tell you this up front. There is no driver, the company does not support the product anymore - I would return it now while you still can.
Either the device is bad, the pc port is bad, or the software is faulty. Try connecting to different usb port, then a usb port on a different pc with a compatible os. If still not recognized, then there is physical damage to player.
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
