Question about JVC AV27F476 27" TV

1 Answer

Popping Sound I have a JVC AV-27F476 TV that works great but during use it has a very loud popping sound every once in a while. Is this a porblem with the TV or the Cable connection and should I look into returning or repairing the TV?

The TV is not using any external audio equipment. I have a regular cable connected directly to the TV, a DVD player and a PS2 plugged in the video/audio in. Other than that there is nothing special plugged in (not even a cable box).

I have tried changing the cables and it still happens. I have recently had the input on auxillary with nothing plugged in so it was just a blue screen and it still popped. I noticed it might be happening more often. During normal TV use it will pop loudly, the sound will go out and then come right back to normal.

I have tried every sound setting combination. Nothing seems to work.

Just try replacing the audio cables and your connections, or sound setting.

Check for any external shorting of the speaker wires. Check for kinks or cuts in the cable that feeds the speakers. Also check the posts or socket at the back of the speakers for damage or wiring shorting out. Proactive IT Support PC Repairs Laptop Repairs Custom Built PC Leading IT...

Loud popping on jvc av56wp74

if the noise is from inside the tv in the back, the high voltage transformer that feeds the anode for the rgb tubes,28000volts probably is arcing.

No picture, No sound

Hi there!
If the set is dead after the popping sound, then it has probably blown a component due to high voltage. Everything inside a tv starts with the power supply. Nothing will work unless the power supply is 100%. I don't know what your rates for repairs are in general, but the price sounds good. The final decision is yours to repair or replace.
