Sony DSC T-5 Cybershot

Purchased Sony DSC T-5 Cybershot about 15 months ago. It was great for the first year, then the pix became blurry, and now it picks and chooses when it wants to turn on. I can't use the camera at all and it definaelty is not the batteries because I plugged it into the wall to try and use it. Called sony but they told me since the warranty has expired, I have to pay about $200 to have repaired!! I am very angry and don't know what to do! HELP!! ANYONE!!!!

    yes, I have.

The T5 works well in first 2 years. But now it cannot focus correctly.

I think the problem lies in the lens' moto.

    What can I do?

I have the same problem with my DSC T5 camera. All pictures are blurry now...it's useless. Before I throw it in the trash, is it worth sending for repair?

I called Sony, did what they said, and now my camera is working just fine...no more blurry pics. Go to menu, click arrow right, click arrow down 3x till you get to "Setup 1," click arrow right scroll down to "Initialize," click to right, select OK, press center button. This initialized everything back to default settings and now I don't have blurry pictures anymore.

Hi,guys.

For some reasons, I'm so lucky my camera was fixed free.

People in Sony repair center are very nice and they will handle your camera carefully and even change your camera's cover and button to make it shine like a new one. And the process is very short, for me it's in 3 days including back to hand. I really appreciate the sevice.

Of course, if you have to spend money to make it repaired, it's really a pain, because everyone knows Sony 's products and sevices are very expensive. So think about it if you love your T5 so deep that you would spend at price could afford a new T5.
For me, answer is no.

    hi,guys

Now it's like a new one, people in Sony repair center are so nice and they will handle your camere very carefully even they do exchange for your camere's buttons and cover to make it shine like a new one. The process of repairment is very short, for me, just 3 days including back to my hand. I really appreciate the sevice.

But if you have to pay for it yourself, it's really a pain. As you know whatever is connected to sony, it will be very expensive.

So if you love your T5 so deep that you'd like spend much at price could afford a new T5, you can take a shoot. For me, I will not.

Most Sony cameras are prone to a problem with the zoom motor inside the lens. At any time do you hear a sound that repeats 3-4 times in quick succession? Possibly when you first turn it on? It would sound like something moving back and forth a couple times a second. Blurry pictures on point and shoot cameras are generally due either to a failed shutter or focus motor in the lens. The camera can tell when the lens is malfunctioning, if a motor is not doing what it is supposed to the camera will turn itself off. This is what you are experiencing, but the exact cause is unclear given the information you supplied.

Are you sure it is your charger and not the battery? (Batteries)

You could buy a new Sony charger, but there are lots of universal camera battery chargers, that won't cost as much and you can use it for every battery from every camera. Pick the right one and you have a charger for years to come, whatever your new camera will be and how big or small the batteries are.

Can the sony cybershot lcd be replaced with that of the canon's lcd

I successfully replaced broken Sony Cybershot LCD screen myself. I purchased replacement screen on e-bay for less than $30, including shipping. Then I found a recording on how to replaced this screen on Youtube. In addition I recorded replacement with a camcorder to make sure that I put all parts back where they suppose to be. It was more than a year ago, and my camera works beautifully still.
