Hello,

Open the machine and move the gear wheels by hand. Sounds like the gears are out of mesh.

Post back and let me know, thanks!

Grinding noise is never good. Open the unit and remove any paper residue (possibly form a paper jam) and clean all the rubber rollers you see with a damp cloth with a drop of dish washing soap on it. Also if you can get to the rear of the unit, clean rollers back there too.Manually move the carriage with the power off to see if it moves freely.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

HP2420N printer makes a loud grinding sound when printing

This printer had change made to some drive gears. They wear down and cause this noise. If you can find a technician to replace the 3 gears it can be inexpensive. We do it for under $150 with labor and parts.

Kodak EasyShare All-In-One Printer 5100 or 5300

Wallet size is 2" x 3". It is possible by using Kodak EasyShare software that is incorporated with the Kodak printer. If you dont have the software, you can download it from www.kodak.com/go/easysharesw

Just put a picture on the picture tray and click on print at home. Change the print size and play around with it.

5300 printer

Of course some noise is common with every inkjet printer. If it sounds really odd or loud though, you should take off the back access panel and check for jams. Has the printer done this all along?

Easyshare 5100 not printing on correct side of paper

Load a single 8x10 page and press Copy + Cancel until the printer feeds the paper. It will spit it out blank. Try printing another photo. Make sure Kodak logo faces up when you load it

Loud grinding noice before starting to print

Mine makes a grinding noise when scanning or making copies. As long as everything is working, I just tolerate the noise in which the rest of the staff find amusing at first and then ignore it as I do.

Out of Paper

make sure that the paper is kodak xtralife with perforated tabs, otherwise the printer will really not pick it up and if it would - it's gonna be a really bad print

detach all the things that are attached to the printer.
grab a piece of lint-free cloth, wet the other end and leave the other end dry
clean the roller horizontally
use the dry end to dry up the roller and watch for water build ups
have at least 10 photo papers in the paper tray
slide the paper tray back into the printer
plug the printer onto the wall outlet, wait for the initializing sound
put cam to the printer dock
print a picture
