Liquidvideo desk top L17LCD2 turns on and off.

Liquid Video L17LCD2 (Silver) 17 in. Flat Panel LCD Monitor turns on and off rapidly, every second or two. I have localized the problem to the monitor, it is not the computer. What can I do to make the repair? Is it more economical to buy another. I gave 20.00 for this one at a yard sale.

Yes! I think you would be further ahead getting a brand new monitor since they have come down in price.

SOURCE: L17LCD2 (Silver) 17 in. Flat Panel LCD Monitor: shuts off after 5 seconds...

Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Driver download

Most Liquid video tv's and indeed most TV's these days use a RCA power cord. They are available cheaply online and in some dollar stores. You may already have one you can use to test the tv with as desktops use them and some laptops use them as well.

You just have to open it up (remove all the screws and stand and then use flat blade screw driver to crack it open starting at the bottom edge first and work your way around and be careful on the cable attached to the front panel). You may be able to see some bad caps with leaking/bulging tops.

NO AUDIO FROM MONITOR. HOW CAN I RESTART ?

First we need to narrow down where the problem is, try using MP3 player or audio source to feed the monitor (set the monitor volume to about half way for now) audio input (green jack), if you do get the sound OK, then the other end of the jack should be connected to the green jack (audio line out) of the PC (set the volume control to half way up) and see if you get the sound. Post back what happen as to which parts do not work.

Black screen on L17lcd2

If you even manage to find some, I am almost completely sure it would be better to buy a new one when it comes to finances. Putting these parts together is a skilled technique. Also, if you have a guarantee with that monitor, why not return it.

My liquidvideo L17LCD2 monitor

Did you get a software disc and manual with the item? Ifo encure you have studied the manual and installed the disk. If you have none of these, Try installinh the monitor as a new hardware device[Start/Control panel/Install new hard ware and when you get asked for the disk or select from list. Go to select from list monitor and find the maker and select the monitor model. If you cannot find a maker [and I must say it is not a brans I am familiar with -select generic then see what happens. If all else fails you will hae to find a website for the maker of this iten to seek Techical help or a driver download. Check out the same with the graphics/display device - if it is a PCI/AGP device.
