Picture is clear but in the upper left corner of the screen it has a blue wave that shadows everything in the general area. i have went through the advanced setup where you hold the convayence and input on the remote and when you hit the pip all the grids are square except the blue grids it appears to be bent in the area i described. is this repairable and worth it????
The convergence Ics need replaced. In Hitachi, resistors and sometimes a coil needs replaced as well. The convergence/deflection PCB is available, but, the cost of that board is higher than having a servicer come to your home and repair the unit to component level. If you are not familar with this circuit, then call a servicer. Have them replace both ICs not just one. Make sure they are repairing to component level and not replacing the board. Hope this helps.

Good Job.
No, you do not need to replace the fluids in this set.
You have done everything that needs to be done.
When you go into the service menu, there is a procedure to save the settings and make them the default settings. If you have access to the service menu, then, you may know the way to save the settings.
I don't have access to the service manual today. Try converging in the service menu and push the button inside the set to save and get out of the service menu.
If you can't find a way to save, then reply back and when I'm back in my shop next week, I'll be able to help you out.

Thanks I have located replacement STK392-150 IC and will install them when they arrive. I am a excellent parts replacer but a little foggy and how it works. I Figured why not fix it myself
Outstanding!!!!!
Replaced the IC's and Boom worked excelent. had to adjust the convergence in the service menu and clear as a bell. are their any fluids that need changed on these units?
ok that works well and as of now if i turn the unit off i have to go and set the Convergence every time? why may i ask
ok the problem is back, evedently the ic's are going out again after 1 month, i did not change any resistors because they looked fine but i must be mistaking. they are resistors close to the ic's is that the ones that need changed?
Any new DIY solutions for the wave problem?
