Hi, your windows has a master boot record there is damaged.
If you have the windows cd, try to use the repair console
when booting from the cd.

Or maybe you have to make a new installation.

Hope this will help you.

My srceen goes Blank

Hi,

first try booting the laptop and pressing the Fn key with the numerical ( numbered key ) that has a picture of 2 screens on it. This is for booting to an external monitor. you could also try adding an external ( pc monitor ) this will eliminate any motherboard Faults.

Secondly, the graphics chip driver may be corrupt or not installed correctly. if you have a restore cd, you could try booting the laptop, with the cd in the drive.

you can then try, to see if the settings in the bios are all correct, by booting/starting the laptop and pressing esc or F2 or delete immediately as the laptop starts. ** Be-Careful** what you adjust.
My suggestion is to look for. ** default settings tab** or load setup defaults.

these are the obvious things to try, before assuming that you have a faulty graphics chip or motherboard fault.

Building new computer with ASUS M2A motherboard and AMD 749 processor. Computer starts, displays ASUS setup screen, goes to blank screen with blinking cursor and then hangs up.

Try to check connections to hard drive...If OK..then check boot device priority in BIOS and change 1st boot device as Hard drive..Then If not worked then chnage 1st boot device as cd rom and boot from a bootable CD and installl OS..

Xp boots and hang up on blank screen

Insert the original Windows XP "System Restore" CD-ROM,
and tell your computer to "boot" from it.

Does it boot, and get to a screen that asks you "do you really want to ...", or does it stop at a "blank" screen?

If it "stops", you have a "hardware" problem.
If it "asks", then either:
* your disk-drive has failed, or is about to fail,
* your installed copy of Windows is messed-up, and it cannot complete the "boot" process.

Take your computer to a computer-store, for more trouble-shooting.

Computer not letting me open or close anything.

In some cases, the motherboard causes the screen to go blank and not load any program. Thats what happened to my HP Laptop. I called the company and explained them that nothing will load up and the screen went blank and they replaced the Motherboard.

So In tis case I think You need a new Motherboard.

Thank You and have a Great Day!!!!!
