Kitchen Aid KSM90 300watt Ultra Power Mixer

The chrome/metal band above where the beaters attach fell off during use. There does not appear to be any screws to reattach it other than pressure. Nothing we do can get this piece to stay attached where it belongs including tapping it with a rubber mallet. Any helpl would be appreciated.

According to the service manual this is the drip cup and is really only held on by friction. I have not tried to take my mixer apart yet but I would think that if your drip cup is too loose, all you need to do is come up with something (string, paper, saran wrap, etc) that will not actually glue it together but will add sufficient thickness to help hold it in place.

Where can I find beaters at the lowest cost for the KitchenAid Ultra Power Soft Start 7 Hand Mixer?

We sell the beaters at The Mending Shed, they are $8.95 for the set of beaters.
Here is a link to those on our website: http://www.mendingshed.com/kahandbeater.html

I have kitchen aid stand mixer and i can't get the beater to attach because the button is stuck??

The button doesn't move. You must push the beater up beyond th notch and turn it while pushing up.

Kitchen Aid flat beater leaves carbon on my hands and food

Are you using the white coated beaters or the burnished beaters. If they are the white coated beaters then the finish has come off and the zinc/underneath is rubbing off. Are you using the aluminum looking beaters in heavy acidic applications? if the mixer is new go to kitchaid customer support they will re-place. if your mixer is out of warranty then you need to replace it. about 15.00 t0 24.00 USD. if the problem persists then you may be leaking metal shavings from the planetary head, (I don't think it is happening but it is a possibility) if it is ground metal shavings you have a serious problem. I can't say anymore without knowing more. What application are you getting this result. is it all the time. is it after the mixer sits along time. need more info.

I have a Kitchenaid 550 watt 6 qt. stand mixer model #KB26GIXER. I tried to use it this morning and couldn't get the beater blade to lock in place. Isn't there supposed to be a spring and washer...

There is only one pin on the beater shaft to hold the beater in place.
There is no spring or washer on the shaft.

To Attach Flat Beater,Wire Whip, or Spiral Dough Hook, simply
1. Slip flat beater on beater shaft.

2. Turn beater to right, hooking beater over the pin on shaft.

Food made with KitchenAid Stand mixer tastes like grease

The likelyhood of grease coming from the mixer is extremely small. As long as the beater & bowl were washed first and the shortening you used was fresh, there shouldn't be a grease taste.

Kitchen Aid Classic mixer

There are 2 possibilities, the attachments are worn out where they go on the shaft, simply replacing them could fix it, the other is the shaft is worn out inside the planetary ( where it spins), if it moves allot, 1/8 " or more from side to side, the housing is probably worn, and the planetary needs to be replaced, easy job, don't know cost, a new mixer may be in order.

Motor runs but the beater does not move

you most likely stripped the plastic gear (Worm gear???).  This gear is designed to fail to prevent the motor from burning out under EXTREME loads (i.e. when a metal piece falls into the bowl). The plastic gear is much cheaper than a new motor.  Look around on this site to see how to get at/repair the gear.  I've found many parts on eBay.com and also PartSelect.com.
