No sound i have a dell latitude d600,i have windows 2003 on it,i have no audio sound i can down load videos but no sound,i also have i tunes put i get a pop up thats telling me that play back is not working rite please help.thank you

Go to Start> Run, then type 'dxdiag' then hit enter to do a sound and video test. No sound on dell latitude d600

Hi

To ensure you have installed the drive properly

Please do the following to check

Start>Control Panel>System>(tab) Hardware> Click on device manager

Click on the + next to sound, audio and video properties

If there are yellow excalamtion marks in the Sigmatel then the driver has not been installed properly

Please redownload from the link below

If running xp Control Panel>Sounds & Audio Devices>Audio and you can set recording volume there. Also Run>c:/windows/system32/sndvol32.exe

Blue screen on a dell d600

did you install the correct driver of your video card?

is your machine was preloaded with vista then re-format to xp? there are some complications if the machine is loaded with vista then change to xp.

i suggested you put it back to windows vista.

I want to put a 250 gig hard drive in a dell d600 but the bios a16 dont support that much what do i flash the bios with I know they do it as for they are for sale all over ebay with 250 gig.

Dell D600 have EIDE interface not SATA.

If you found EIDE or PATA interface for D600 with 250GB....when you install it divide the partition into 2.(100GB for windows sytem) and the rest will be your second drive.

did you try to check if the sound card or the sound driver of the laptop is installed, if not go to support.dell.com and install the latest driver of the laptop,put the service tag of the system and that is the 7 alpha numeric characters at the bottom of your system.
