SONY KV-32S26 I recently performed a power supply repair on my TV, replaced (1)2SC5148,(2)2SC4834,(1)0.1 OHM bathtub fusible Resistor. It lasted 5 hours. I performed the repair again and also replace the flyback. I adjusted "screen" to what seems to be a normal level of brightness, just below where those horizontal lines disappear and adjusted "focus" fully counterclockwise which seems to be the best view. The TV is currently working but after about 30-45 minutes, the screen image takes on the shape of an hour-glass (it pulls in tightly at the center) then goes blank, the sound continues to work. If you turn it off and back on the screen comes back on for just a few minutes. It also has a very slight geometry problem, the most upper and most lower portions of the screen seem to be pulled in toward the center, it's just barely noticable.

I have a Sony model KV-32S26 that will not turn on, been sitting for about 2 years. Had a tv repair guy tell me it was the flyback transformer. If that's the case, can I replace it myself? Thanks

1) You must test the a) fuse b) c.breaker inside c) diode, d) rectifier e) transformer f) filter. g) IC. regulator voltage and test it. If the problem persist you must go to the horizontal problem by lack of RASTER, now you test the transistor horizontal power, flyback. If you have some experience with the electronic you can try. If do not, better go to the repair shop Tv. Since you can have a electric shock by H.Voltage discharge.
God bless you

No power

Most likely that open 5.6 Ohm resistor is in the power supply, is it a fairly large squarish resistor? If so just replace it and try the set again. I think it's a ballast resistor that has opened up and this can happen with age especially if it was not perfect to begin with.

Try replacing it, I bet it will fix the problem...

Tv repairing

You still have something open in power supply. Look for a fuse resistor or bad relay.

No power.

Usually, in those Sony sets, a crack developes on a small transformer in the horizontal drive circuit, which causes the horizontal output transistor to short. This immediately shorts out the switching transistors in the power supply and blows the Sony 0.1 ohm resistor fuse. A shorted flyback (high voltage) transformer will also have the same result. The power supply does NOT need to be replaced. The parts should be replaced, the flyback checked and the board resoldered by a qualified tech familiar with Sony sets.

Black screen

If the power supply IC (MX0842) shorts out, it blows the Sony 0.1 ohm fuse resistor. The set will click but have no sound or picture and the LED will blink 5 times. The power supply should be repaired by someone with experience with Sony TV's.

KV- 32V40 Fusible resistor always blow-up

hey...glad im not the only one in this mess....thank god i have an electronics background as i my offer some help. i found that Q601/Q602 were shorted, replaced with NTE2582 transistors, but also there is another fusible resistor located next ti the transformer on the powersupply board(board G i believe)same as the other(1/4-1/2 watt .1-.15 omhs)well i thought all was well until i pluged it in and both fusible resistors and the transistors blew right away....led me to the H-OUT transistor, right next to the flyback, on the main board...sure enough it was shorted as well. that part is 2SC5148(not the NTE part #), , and will put it in after work tommorow...looks good so far and will, even with my mistake will cost several hundred dollars less than taking it to a tv shop...and thousands less that the plasma screen the wife wants....this 32inch has been good to me for 9 years, and im going to help it along for another if possible. you cant email me at [email protected] if youd like.....thanks and good luck

Sony kv-32s26 32 inch tv

video card went out in the tv. You are saying you need a schematic. Be real careful getting into tvs. They have very large capacitating capacitators in them that can electrocute you. You need to take it to a repair specialist and have them run a check on it. Sounds like the video card to me though.
