Question about Dell (Y4081) CD-RW/DVD-ROM (Combo) Burner
Open tray, insert disc, close tray. LED flashes, 2-4 seconds pass, tray opens. Impacts all discs - data & audio. Recently reinstalled Windows XP. All else is working fine. Last software addition was Roxio Easy CD Creator. Help, please!
My Dvd-r/cd-rom automatically ejects. Please help!

Did it work before you put Easy CD Creator on? How old is the copy of ECC? Try removing/uninstalling the drive from device manager and shut the computer down. After a minute or so turn it back on see if the drivers settle themselves. If not remove Easy Cd Creator and see if a newer version exists or try a different program see if the problem exists. Tips for a great answer:
Click on Start, Run, and type regedit and press Enter
Click on the plus signs (+) next to the following folders
This folder is the DVD/CD-ROM Drive Class Description in the registry. Look for any of the following names in the right hand column.
If any of the above keys shown in step 4 are listed, right-click on them and choose Delete
After deleting the keys, close the registry editor
Reboot your computer
Open My Computer and check to see if your CD or DVD drives have returned. You may also want to open Device Manager and verify that the yellow exclamation and error code on the CD or DVD drive is gone.
