Question about Samsung SyncMaster 240 T 24.1" Flat Panel LCD Monitor
Bob1927, This is typically caused by the actual LDC panel itself failing, not the electronics. It?s fixable but the panel is where a good part of the cost of the display comes from so it may not be economically repairable. I would call the manufacturer to see if your warranty is still active. Even if it is out of warranty you never know what will happen, especially if you're nice. Every once in a while I accidentally discover a little know repair/replacement program to cover a manufacturing defect. It doesn't hurt to call and let them make suggestions, they may even have a reasonably priced repair program Good luck and let us know how it turns out and as always please don?t forget to rate this posting.

Glad to help. The good news is LCD screens are even cheaper and better than when you bought your a few years ago.
Sure, I had a hard time figuring it out too. The site designers want everyone to navigate through the site to look for existing answers before posting new ones. So you have to go through a few menus to get where you want:
Let?s say we have a Dell Dimension with a LCD monitor problem:
-Go to the FixYa.com home page.
-Find the blue bar at the top of the page where it says ?type your products manufacturer and model names
-Enter ?Dell desktop? in the while field.
-Click on the search button to the right.
-That takes you to the Dell Dimension page and lists lots of different Dell components. Unfortunately in our case there isn?t anything close to LCD or even monitor (Now I understand why some of the questions have odd categories).
-What I did then is add ?lcd monitor? to the search field in addition to ?dell dimension? I added earlier, and then click on the search button.
-That takes us to a troubleshooting and support page which really list nothing that relates to my Dell LCD problem BUT on right hand side of the green bar there is a ?Post a new problem? link.
-Click on that and you will get a problem entry screen.
That seems rather painful to me, perhaps I?ll make another suggestion to the powers that be?..

Thanks for you response. I called and they informed me I'm out of warranty(which I knew)
I guess I'm due for a new monitor.
Thanks again for helping an old man out. I appreciate it.
I'm glad I found this forum. You'll be hearing from me again, I'm sure.
