ON THE LEFT HALF OF THE PAGE, I GET NOTHING BUT BLACK. THE BLACK BORDER RUNS DIAGONALLY FROM RIGHT TO LEFT DOWN THE PAGE.
I HAVE ALREADY CHANGED THE DRUM AND THE DEVELOPER LIGHT DOES NOT INDICATE A NEED FOR A CHANGE.
ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE PAGE, I GET THE COPIED IMAGE.
Hi
You clean Heat roller, Thermostate or thermostator
if you does not solve you can clean your machines laser unit
chek the copier lamp(upper lamp ) if its working during copy other ways u have to take up the lamp and check it by oem meter , u have to check also the thermal fuse for that lamp on the same unit. I hope that will solve ur problem ,if not high voltage unit above the drume is damaged
is there a print in the background? Yes, check Seperation unit ( inside under the drum, usually three thin wires)

Did you clean the inside of the copier from toner and dirt?
If you already replaced drum, lets exclude a drum problem, even if the drum should be checked. Just remove the drum and put it back inside. On some model, the drum , the toner , and the film unit are separate, check also the remaining parts.
I would exclude problem with fuser lamp, as this cause generally a white portion of the print , and not a black area.
If you havent tried a replacement toner yet, replace the toner, clean the machine, and print some copies.
If the drum is OK, and toner is fine and machine cleans, then this is usually a defect that concerns the laser gun good working, or a scanner problem.
Check that te scanner area is not dirty, that mirror and light are fine, this can be easily a bad scanner sensor.
Check that the inside of the copier does not have dirty areas inside, if you know how to clean safely a copy machine, you can clean the inside of the machine from residual toner.
Often this is also a DC controller PCA fault.
If DC Controller is defective, it will
turn on the laser beam continuously, or erratically, causing an entire portion of the Photosensitive
drum to be neutralized, and printing a completely black area.
You can also get this when the high voltage power supply circuit is defective, and it is not supplying the correct negative voltage, in this case part of the page may be black.
Finally, when the Laser or Scanner Assembly itself is faulty it will turn on laser
on continuously, and can print a dark area on part of the page.
