Question about Linksys Wireless-G WRTP54G Router
Hi I am really new to networks and have purchased a linksys wireless g wag54gs along with what i was told by the shop to get a Linksys wireless g usb network adaptor. I plugged both these in to my desk top pc and seemed to have installed and after a few days of trying. The connection worked and I was able to use my lap top wireless. Now for some reason my red light has came on where it says internet on the wireless g. The DSL light and wireless light comes on green but when I try to detect the ADSL gateway on the computer it comes up with the internet light red. Any help you can give me to try would be great. Diana
Diana, The router has lost its IP address from the ADSL gateway. Unplug the router from the wall for about a minute or two. Plug it back in..? If that doesn't work you need to login to your router and check the settings. or(there is a small reset button on the back of the router. Hold it in for 10 seconds the router will reset.) http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?c=L_Content_C1&childpagename=US%2FLayout&cid=1114037290855&pagename=Linksys%2FCommon%2FVisitorWrapper http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?c=L_Content_C1&childpagename=US%2FLayout&cid=1114037290855&pagename=Linksys%2FCommon%2FVisitorWrapper If possible turn your computers off while resetting the connection. Some inter Microsoft networks will issue its own IP if it doesn't detect one. Good Luck, Tim
