How do i reboot my computer

Hi,

To reboot the desktop machine, kindly press the power on button for few seconds / small button(reset) below the power button to reboot the computer.

If its laptop follow the below steps

Determine what operating system it uses. Finding out what operating system your laptop uses will let you know what key combo (such as "Ctrl+Alt+Delete") can exit you from usage and trigger a reboot or shutdown.

Try and reboot using the operating system. Attempt to use the key combination that will allow you to exit from the operating system and restart the laptop. Be patient, as it may take some time if it has locked up.

Hold down the power button. If the operating system's answer to the rebooting will not work, find and hold down the power button of the laptop. This should cause the device to shut itself off. You'll have to press the power button again to power it back on, completing the reboot.

Unplug from the wall and remove the battery. If restarting via the operating system and the power button do not work, unplug the laptop from the wall outlet, and remove the battery from the laptop. This will cause it to power off immediately.

Allow time to reboot. Give the laptop time to cool down before you power it back on if you had to do this manually. A few seconds should do unless you have additional problems.

Can you run a laptop without the battery hook up

Yes, the battery is not required for the system to operate using the AC Adapter.

Not to insult you in any way but u need to know how to wire into car's electrical system at the battery then to a fuse then to the amp and then output the signal from the deck to the amp.. finally to the subwoofer. you need to hook up 12V constant battery power , then remote from the deck ,ground wire from amp to chasis for power.. then wire to sub.

Dead battery...was told to keep power to the engine when changing battery or it would cause problems to the gauges, etc. Is this true?

If your hooking up a battery charger you can attach it to your battery without removing anything. I would not have your engine running while your charging it cause that doesn't make sense to be using your battery and charging it at the same time. You can also remove the battery from the car if you wish to isolate the battery. be sure to remove to negative cable first otherwise you could cause a short and that could lead to all kinds of problems. Not really sure where your friends got there info but your engine already doesn't have power cause your battery is dead. your best bet is to remove the battery and charge it, then test it, then hook it back up. When you hook it back up be sure to attach the negative cable last.

The power light is flashing blue on my Toshiba laptop. It starts to turn on but then shuts down immediately. It does this whether the battery is in it or not. It is hooked up to an external power source. I...

Hi there.
Yes you can run the laptop on AC power only without the battery installed but it sounds to me like its overheating.
Buy a can of compressed air and give short blasts through the air vents and the CPU fan which is located underneath the laptop.
If this does not work the CPU fan may have quit and it will need replacing.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

Battery is not charging

when you first purchased your laptop did you plug in your adapter to give your battery a full charge? If not then try a new battery when buying something like that always charge at least 12 hours before play.

Abnormally Switches off

I'm afraid that this sounds like either a fuse, capacitors or a blown relay on the motherboard. Otherwise, it could also have something to do with some kind of problem involving the battery.

First and foremost, take the battery out of the system before doing anything else. See what happens without the battery in the laptop. If the problem seems to be solved by doing so by some chance, then you probably have a short in the battery itself. (Which would explain the issue.)

Beyond that, the most I can advise on is checking the power settings in your BIOS as quickly as you possibly can before it shuts off. See if there is anything in particular that might have an effect on the system's operation. I would disable any power-saving features and such... Just to cut those unnecessary variables out of the equation.

See if you can get it into the BIOS...and see if it still shuts down once it is in the BIOS. (No doubt it will... It wouldn't make ANY sense if it didn't, now would it?)

Try those things for now... But do NOT rate me if this does not fix your laptop. Remember that we are here to TRY our best to provide a solution. This is not meant to be a solution.

This is meant to find a cause for the problem. Only THEN can we give any kind of solid solution or conclusion.

Either way, I ask that you wait to rate me until after we follow these steps and I give you my conclusions. If the laptop is fragged, I ask that you give me a fair rating based on my attempt. Not based on the fact that I could not fix your laptop.

Remember that hardware failure is NOT OUR FAULT. We tried to help either way.

Thanks and let me know what happens. K?
