Question about Kenwood KDC-V7017 CD Player

Need a Kenwood Part #...

I've got a Kenwood KDC-V7017 and i need a replacement part. The part is what the faceplate clicks onto and rotates it around when you eject a cd and/or turn it off. It looks like a thin rectangular piece of metal with a swiveling arm that connects to each end longways. The plastic plate that is glued to the back is all you see when the unit is switched off. The arm on mine is snapped in two but i think this might be one part number for both pieces. I don't really need the plastic plate; i can glue on the one i have. If I can just find the part # I can order it online.

Partstore.com will have the part but you will need to go to manualsparadise.com first and get a pdf of the COMPLETE service manual with the parts breakdown in it. If you are lucky enough to get the actual part number from someone then you can of course skip the part about getting the service manual. Good luck.

I need the instruction manual for my kdcv7017 kenwood cd player

Kenwood has the manuals for many of their products available on their support web site: http://www.kenwoodusa.com/Support/Car_Entertainment_Owners_Manuals/ . The direct link to the KDC-V7017 CD Receiver user manual is http://www.kenwoodusa.com/UserFiles/File/Global/Consumer/Manuals/KDCV7017.pdf . See the Kenwood site for the other available documentation.

I hope this helps.

Need to get the security code for Kenwood KDC-608OR

ok I just found this info online and they say it came from the service manual for that stereo so I hope it helps:

You will need a Kenwood RC-410 remote control. This remote works on KDC-519, KDC-X859, KDC-319, KDC-4019, KDC-MP919, KDC-X759, KDC-419, KDC-X459, KDC-MPV619, KDC-MPV7019, KDC-2022, KDC-2022V, KRC-435, KRC-535 and KDC-X959

To reset the code do the following:

1) Turn on the car.
2) The faceplate rotates out and the CODE - - - - prompt appears.
3) Press >>' and Auto keys simultaneously on the faceplate and hold for 4 seconds. (If the faceplate rotates back into the console push on the upper left top edge of the faceplate and it will flip back around. Press the Eject button and then try it again.)
4) The screen will still say CODE, but the - - - - will disappear! When this happens press the 5 key on the remote twice and it enters a K on the display on the faceplate. Hit the >>' key on the faceplate.
5) Press the 2 key on the remote three times and it enters a C on the display on the faceplate. Hit the >>' key on the faceplate.
6) Press the 2 key on the remote once and it enters an A on the display on the faceplate. Hit the >>' key on the faceplate.
7) Press the 7 key on the remote twice and it enters an R on the display on the faceplate. Hit the >>' key on the faceplate.
8) The radio goes into All Off mode and you are set! Hit the SRC button on the faceplate to select CD, Radio, etc.

Faceplate opens to remove the faceplate but there is no display?

you probably have a bad flexible cable (goes from the face to the main motherboard). unless you are good at desoldering and soldering, you may want to have it done by a professional.

Manually opening a Kenwood motorized face

hi if you pop off the top cover you should see a motor on the right hand side, with a flexi cable connected to it, if you unplug the Flrxi from the pcb, you can then use a pp3 (9v) type battery to power up the motor. this will be much esier than manually moving the gears.

be sure to remove the flexi first otherwise you WILL damage the motor driver.
