I have the hp psc 2200 all in one and have recently changed the cartrige but it still prints in pink like it's out of black. Also it prints very slowly many times. When I receive a fax or try to print a copy I get an error message that indicates the paper is the wrong size. Is my printer on the way out? I bought a new cartrige today and it continued to have the same problem. Will it do this if my color cartrige is low?

I had already tried cleaning the heads so I knew it wasn't the solution. I bought a new color cartrige today and replaced the old and it worked like normal today in regards to the ink problem. I still have problems with it giving me a message and refusing to print my faxes quite frequently. The message says "paper mismatch, replace paper and push enter". I obviously don't have the wrong size paper because sometimes I'll hit enter and it'll print and other times it keeps giving me a blank sheet and error message so I just hit cancel. (to be honest, most times I'd rather not receive the faxes, they're like telemarketers via faxes). Is there a certain type of paper I should be using that would stop this message? Thanks for your help, we'll see what tomorrow brings.

Printer was off for a week and when turned on indicates "incorrect black cartrige installed"

Use lint free cloth and clean the contacts on cartrige and contacts on printer were the cartrige gos in. Be very gentle and very careful do not damage the contacts. Reinstall the cartrige an try again to get it to print. Do not touch the inkjet on the bottom of the ink cartrige it may distroy the print head chip on the ink cartrige and make it useless.

Printer issue

I can only suggest that you should use genuine HP ink carts. Try all new carts and realign again. Hopefully it is under warranty. HP is good at exchanging.

Won't print docs in black ink

The application that you use to print may have been cofigured to avoid the black color.

And sometimes a virus has affetced your application e.g. MS Word.... this may cause the printer to print in any colour.

In this case you should reinstall the application. (first completely remove the application).
