If you have the Cables2GO USB to Parallel converter, it is a pain to get working.  Go to Radio Shack and buy the GigaWire USB to Parallel.
Then once plugged in, go the printer that will be using the converter.  Go to the printer properties, select the PORTS tab.  Select the 'VIRTUAL PRINTER PORT FOR USB'.  That worked for me!

SOURCE: EPSON TM T88IV

The TM-T88IV printer is a thermal printer and does not have ink or a ribbon.

If the printer is not printing you may have the wrong type of paper in the printer. You must have thermal paper in order for the printer to work. Paper for a dot matrix printer will not work in this printer.

The printer has a self-test that you can perform by turning the printer off, holding down the Feed button and turning the printer on. A test strip will print. Press the Feed button again to print a longer test strip.

Epson POS driver will not install on a Win2K3 machine due to the InstallShield Wizard w/c checks if your running XP/2K or not.

Download the driver from EPSON POS site & extract the contents first on an XP machine.(Installing the driver will create a C:\Epson folder where ACTUAL driver is extracted).

SOURCE: can not print with Epson LX-300

The USB to parallel converter does not always work.

You should buy a Parallel port for your computer if you have can extra slot inside the machine. The cost for the parallel port is usually under $20.

thanks adi

Testimonial: "Yes that can be done but you have to have extra slot.So I wondered if some software would do the trick.Otherwise your solution is the only way! Thanks"

What do I need to hook up TM-T88IV to my computer to print out receipts?

Well according to EPSON the ways you can connect your printer to a computer are RS-232C, IEEE 1284 parallel; RS-485; high-speed USB; 10/100Base-T/TX; wireless. However the way they get you is you have to buy the interface from them. Contact EPSON and see what the cheapest one is. If you're only using it from one computer just a simple parallel cable will do the trick. If you live in the Washington DC area feel free to contact me and if you send me a picture of the back of the printer I can tell you what kind of connection it is. I'm at http://www.inovagent.com

I have an epson tm-t88IV on a USB port it is very slow to react when sent a print job, I did not have this issue with the Parallel Port, is there anything that can be done?

Have you used EpsonExpert.com yet to find the solution?
Go there (it's an Epson site) and set up a free user account.
From what I'm reading, it has to do with using Windows drivers slowing the response and printing. There are drivers on Epson Expert which should solve your issue.
