If your dishwasher leaks, check these:

Main tub seal
Door gasket or seal
Water-inlet valve
Hoses
Main tub seal Note…If the main motor of your dishwasher is mounted vertically, beneath thecenter bottom of the dishwasher, the following instructions probablyapply to you. But if your motor is mounted horizontally, the pump isn'tserviceable--you need to replace the entire pump and motor assembly.

Themain tub seal is beneath the drain impeller. It prevents the water inthe dishwasher from leaking out near the shaft of the motor. To get tothe seal, which is inside the dishwasher, remove the:

  • Lower rack

  • Spray arm

  • Spray arm support

  • Wash/drain impellers

Then pry the seal out of its housing and replace it.

Door gasket or seal Overtime, door gaskets and seals harden and lose their ability to sealproperly. You can't repair the seals. You need to replace them ifthey've begun to leak.

Water-inlet valve Thewater-inlet valve, itself, seldom leaks. But, the water-supply linefrom the house and the rubber tube leading from the valve to the insideof the dishwasher may leak. Tighten or repair/replace these asnecessary.

The water-inlet valve could mechanically stick open. When that happens, the water continues to flow into the dishwasher, which then floods your kitchen. Turn off the water supply to thedishwasher, and replace the valve.

Hoses Behindthe lower access panel on your dishwasher are several rubber or plastichoses. If the leak appears at a connection, try a new clamp. If thatdoesn't work, replace the hose.

I have a kitchenaid dishwasher model KUDMOITJBLO installed as new unit in Oct. 2002 in a new home. Current problem is water coming from front door, bottom as unit starts wash cycle after filling. Leak is...

Hello, Thank You for using FixYa. I will be helping you today.I would start by removing the outer door panel remove the screws around the inner door to do this. Then close the door and start a cycle. Sometimes you can see obvious signs of leaks just by removing the panel too. But if not let it run and see if you see water leaking anywhere. You will see water in the bottom corners its normal. If water is splashing over those corners the check the lower spray arm gor damage or cracks it can cause this problem also make sure the screws under the spray arm are tight. also check the upper arm.

Just installed the dishwasher and it is leaking from the the two front corners of the door

I dont know what brand your dishwasher is, but if it is leaking from the two bottom corners it is not level. If the back is higher than the front, the water will drip out of the bottom corners of the door. Raise the front feet up so that the edge of the door is flush with the cabinet doors from the top to the bottom.

Brand new kenmore dishwasher leaking out the front

Check the door gasket for uniform seating. Align it. If this does not solve the problem, contact the service provider. He may change the gasket or do the corrective action.

Water leaks from the bottom door

The gasket that surrounds the door will fix it. If that's what you ordered, it'll be taken care of upon installation.

Water leaks past the seal

In most dishwashers is does not matter, what I am saying is the door does not seal to the unit like you think it would, there is not tight seal like on a refrigerator, in most cases the bottom lip of the door just closes over a lip on the tub of the washer. So for people that add to much detergent or the wrong kind can get suds coming out of the bottom. There is a float valve that stops the washer from overflowing(overfilling)
in the bottom, kind of looks like a mushroom, check around this to make sure nothing stuck around it or under it. It should be able to move up and down freely. Any questions please post back, everyone is happy to help.

Water coming out of the front door of the dishwasher

Read the installation instructions and make SURE that you have removed all of the packing material from inside and around the door. If you had the bottom apron off to hook it up, some insulation may have poked up into where the bottom of the door seals. Inspect the area that the door seals really carefully - you often can't see the bottom of the bachine side, due to how the door bottom catches drips, but if there's something that is sticking up into the lip when the door closes, that can give you problems. If you can take the bottom skirt off and run the machine, you may be able to see where the problem is coming from. Good Luck! Jim
